What has Gomez done to warrant a spot on the third line?

Nothing. I'd rather Sheppard as the #3C.

But honestly, I'm not a fan of Chimera. He's Torrey Mitchell 2.0.

Hes a bigger, stronger and physical Torrey Mitchell. Very true. Great wheels, can score highlight reel goals...has stone hands.

Having one Mario Lemieux goal per season is still better than none.

Completely hypothetical question out of boredom. If you could trade for one back who would it be, Seto or Michalek?

Milan in a heartbeat. He was one of my favorite Sharks, and still is one of my favorite NHLers.

Milan - Jumbo - Havlat

everyone would just skate around in circles.

You would put the only non-center on that line in the middle.

It might be just me but I think Milan looks slow these days. Maybe his knee is slowing him down. I always liked Seto even though he was streaky.

Setoguchi also showed up in the playoffs.

I'd take Michalek though.

I too would pick Milan, his biggest flaws were usually mental, I think he grew out of that fairly well.

Michalek.

A line of Michalek - Marleau - Havlat would have blazing speed, good size, and could act as an effective shut-down line against top opponents while also being able to score. Their speed would probably force opposition to play their best defenders against that line.

Then you have Couture - JT - Pavs to go against slightly weaker competition and focus on scoring (with all 3 still being decent defensively). JT would still have two guys who can shoot. The only problem is that the line might be too slow.

Got to take everything DW says with a grain of salt. But based on the article below:

http://www.mercurynews.com/sharks/ci...on-says-its-up

does not sound like we need any personnel changes at all.

any GM would say that, not just wilson.

if you start saying we need a shake up, an already snake bite team becomes even more snake bit because they are trying to hard to impress the GM so maybe they are the ones that don't get traded.

and wilson is also someone that said to seto and the media that he looked forward to seto helping the team long term after signing him to a extension, then boom he was traded 2 days later.

I think Milan and Couture could be pretty dangerous together. Add Patty to that line and thats a pretty fast line. Couture would bring down the speed of the line but with Patty and Milan streaking down on the wings and Coutures playmaking abilities, he'd make up for it.

I don't think the Caps are very high on this Ovechkin fellow.

Think we can snag him for Clowe+Murray+Handzus+Burish+2nd?

This is not good news. Wonder if he'll be saying that if we lose more games in a row...

I really think he's mistaken here, he really needs to make a deal for scoring depth.

Wilson already proved he doesn't see anything wrong with what he's doing by not changing much in the offseason.

It's a PR move. If he says he needs to change things up, the players get worried and they might play worse. Other teams also may ask for more because they know you're actively looking.
I've learned to take everything DW says with a grain of salt.
