That would probably guarantee them not to win the cup.

Was thinking of poor Burkie and made me think of this thread.

Is Brian Burke currently sitting at home in his underwear eating tubs of ice cream watching the team he built finally succeed?

I feel bad for the man.

Well Burke could have had this a year or two ago if he'd canned his buddy Ron Wilson when he should have. Biggest difference is the coaching, no question in my mind. That guy nearly ruined Luke Schenn with his ridiculous "always have two hands on your stick" rule. Would be surprised if he ever coaches in the NHL again.

And for that matter, Allaire may have ruined Gustavsson's career; he came close to ruining Reimer's, although that's separate from Wilson.

Burke went out and got a lot of good pieces but he couldn't put it all together, and in trying not to be the guy who puts all the blame on the coach (what usually happens), he instead went too far and put too much blame on the players.

Yes.

Though isn't suggesting that they will "Win the Cup" jumping the gun a whole lot? Need to make the playoffs first.

No because this happens every year to Toronto, even when Burke was there, they always drop.

And no Burke wont get credit because the Leafs aren't winning the cup.

If the Leafs win the Cup, the real credit should go to the pigs that were finally able to achieve flight.

A 'What if the Leafs Win The Cup' thread...

Must be the first two game win streak of the year.
