I like Liles a lot and I'd be happy to see him on the Flyers. We could use his skating ability. We have size, but we are a little slow. Maybe a second?

despite what people think liles is still a very decent pmd/ppqb. the timing of contract was a little weird but before his concussion he was playing great. this season he seems to be getting back to his old ways but the way carlyle is playing the defense has made offensive defenseman look worse in the same way wilson made defensive defenseman look bad.
realistically i dont see nonis moving liles for less then a 2nd but it would be contingent on gardiner AND gunnarson being healthy and playing well. if nonis could move liles then he could amnesty komisarek and carlyle could run;
He may eventually be the odd man out, but he's played quite well so far, so I don't see the necessity of compromising our depth unless it is in our interests to do so.
lol and Liles is the healthy scratch tonight. I think ppl are forgetting that depth is key in a short season. I don't see the Leafs getting rid of anyone until the trade deadline, at which point they will gauge whether they need to stock up on MORE depth, or get rid of all the fringe players for picks.
Not that Liles has played poorly but Carlyle is keeping everyone on his toes by playing guys like Holzer, Fraser and Kostka who are playing so well and are playing like they have to earn this night in and out.
Depth at D is never a bad thing. Even Komisarek looked good in the beginning of the season but hasn't been getting a chance after his eye incident.
So as far as Liles is concerned, we'll only deal him if we are out of a playoff position, otherwise there is no need.

It's numbers and RC trying to keep guys fresh. Gunnar was healthy and hasn't played in a couple weeks. Phaneuf isn't going to sit. Franson has 9 points in 12 games. Fraser is +13 on the year. Kosta is 8th in the league with 31 shifts a game. Liles played last game and they wond 3-0. It's just a numbers game.
I see no reason to move a good offensive dman for anything less than what was given up for him. It would take a bit more than the second rounder that was given up for him IMO. There's no motivation to move him right now.
Well, his production has decreased by an even higher proportion.
He has 6 points in 15 games. That's a 35 point pace. Considering he is no longer on the first PP unit and gets very little PP time -- I'd say that's about right.
I know you want to make yourself feel good -- saying he's worthless -- but he's a solid player.
He had a few rough weeks last year when he came back from his concussion but he's been fine this year and getting better with each game. He's a plus player that moves the puck well.
The Leafs should keep him -- depth is always a good thing to have on the back end.
No rush to move Liles, but I'm sure Nonis has been listening to offers. Gave up a 2nd rounder to obtain him, so I'm sure he would want at least a 2nd coming back and probably a young prospect coming back also.
