Voynov vs. Kulikov

Two young russian d-men. Both have been developing and year by year playing bigger and bigger role for their teams. Who is better?

I really like Voynov's two-way ability. I'll pick him as he's already won a cup and was a factor in it as well, and not a bystander.

I've been watching a lot of Kings games lately and Voynov has been the most noticeable player on the ice for the team. He looks much better on the PP than Doughty and he just seems to make very good plays offensively. I haven't been as keenly watching him on the defensive side of things, but I haven't noticed any glaring mistakes and he does have a +17 higher rating than Doughty (which I admit isn't a completely fair comparison due to Doughty logging more minutes against top competition). I personally like Kulikov better, but Voynov has impressed me more this season, so he gets my vote.

Voynov, not really close if you actually watch him.

Oh you must watch Kuli a lot? I'm not saying Voynov isn't good but not really close is laughable.

Well Voynov is at a higher point pace and he plays very solid. One has much more games than the other.

Interesting poll, haven't seen enough of Kulikov to make a judgement but I am very impressed with Voynov and his progression in the LA system. Not voting because of painful ignorance of Kulikov's play but will eagerly await and take into account others who have seen enough of both

I think Voynov is being undersold here. I don't think Kulikov is significantly better, especially this season. He's been LA's best defenseman thus far.

I don't get to watch any Panthers games, so I can't compare Voynov to Kulikov.

So I'll just be happy with what the Kings have and abstain from voting.

Seriously, I don't get how Kulikov has an overwhelming amount if votes over Voynov. This poll should be closer. I guess the reality is that most people don't get to see much of Voynov.

Most don't even know what team he plays for.

Even more Shocked people even know who the Kings are.

" LA has a Hockey team" ?

"Yah Dude they won the Stanley Cup last year"

"Oh I thought the NHL shut down the playoff's cause Pitt/Van/Original Six team was not in it"..

"Say what" ?

The report card is Incomplete. Too early to tell who the better player is or will be.

How close the poll is has nothing to do with the gap between them as players. All a landslide means is that it's a consensus that player X > player Y, not necessarily that the gap between them is big.

Kulikov is a much stronger overall player. Don't be fooled by the fact that he plays in Florida and you dont here about him much. Voynov still has a ways to go, contrary to what some might say, particularly if you listen to the guy earlier giving him credit for single handedly winning LA a cup

I actually think people starting to notice Voynov's talent. Numerous times we have seen Kulikov-Orlov-Gontcharov-Voynov polls, for obvious reasons. Currently it's not a shame anymore to compare him with Kulikov.
