Senator Veterans That Have Made Ottawa Their Home

Was reading up on how a couple Hurricane veterans have decided to make Carolina their permanent home.I loved reading the story and think having all the vets will be nothing but helpful in the future in building hockey in Carolina.

I know guys like Chris Kelly stay year-round with Alfredsson, Phillips, and Neil deciding to stay in Ottawa post-retirement.

Curious if there are any veterans that have decided to stay in Ottawa that you guys know of? (Not including players to never play here or considered Ottawa their home town to start off with)

Hasn't played for the Sens in a while, but Tugnutt lives in Stitsville.

This would be a great idea for a story. Would be interesting to see how many are still in the area.

And owns the CCHL sadsack Kemptville 73's. Two son's on the team (one G, one F). Questionable if both should be playing at that level right now.

lol isn't that pretty much the reason Galley quit coaching the Raiders? Having players who didn't deserve it being shoved down his throat or something lol.

CBC say 'THANKS'

I heard Radek Bonk was looking at buying a house in Ottawa a few years ago as a 2nd residence.

No idea if that ever happened, though.

Thats a blast from the past. Just remembered that I once spoke to Brad Shaw's son. While he coaches with the Blues, still keeps residence in Ottawa atlleast during the summer.

Todd white lives in Kanata I believe.

I remember reading an interview with Foligno last year and he said Ottawa would be his home throughout his career no matter where he's playing. Not sure if he's stuck with that but his wife works as a teacher in Ottawa.

Just off the top of my head:
Jason York
Sean Donovan
Jason Smith
Jacque Martin (may still have a house in Stittsville)
Ron Tugnutt
Brad Marsh
Shaun Van Allen

Does Redden still have a house here?
Chris Kelly I think still has a house here.
