Yeh but Condra is sneaky good and he doesnt let up on rebounds.. even though he cant hit the net (Boston game.. ugh)

I'm all for having Filatov back for next camp and compete for a spot, haven't given up on him at all. But i don't think he wants to stay in AHL if he doesnt make the team right away. When does our right for him expire anyway?

You should call. I guarantee his reaction would be:

Remind him, if Salavat loose to Magnitogorsk in first round, Filatov is available 5 March latest.

Ottawa needs scorers, plain and simple.

1 regulation goal through 2-3 games isn't going to cut it down the road.

Bring back Filatov and give him another shot, he has the skill to be a Top-6 forward.

Actually you guys may be on to something. I think he would probably prefer to come over at the end of a season since he is playing regularly in the KHL so hes comfortable and in game shape, and he most liekly wont be sent down to the A if he doesn't produce since the season would be pretty much over down there.

Though its a double edged sword here. We have one more shot with him, and if we take it now and miss thats it. Personally, I would much rather wait until hes 25-26 or so and try and talk him into coming over.

At that age he won't be a UFA yet (correct me if im wrong) and hopefully matured a little bit more than he is currently. Also thats a couple more years to put on some mass which would be beneficial to his game imo.

When he is 25-26 are picks like Zibanejad Silfverberg Noesen Puempel Stone and Prince could all be regulars by then ..

Filatov fits a serious need now and after this season if he makes his statement and stays or he is back too KHL ..

Needing offence is a huge need right now getting Stone Prince Filatov in the lineup could help now

Silfverberg Turris Alfie
Filatov Da Costa Milo
Prince Zibanejad Stone
Condra Smith Neil

extras Daugs and Greening

Scorers and play makers across the board

He has to go back to the KHL next season. He has a contract and the NHL has to honor it. We can bring him once his season is done. Then do the same next year. If he does well then we can sign him here.

Someone give the kid a chance. No more Condra on the top line. Please.

So if we are to sign him would it be a one year deal?

That is his opinion. Until he quotes one of the Murray's it carries little weight.

Agree. Just putting that out there. Carries little weight but there is some weight there considering his proximity to the team.

Mendes generally doesnt just talk out of his ass, he probably asked someone in the organization. I'd guess there's just too much red tape involved in bringing over a guy who's still under contract.

This is my conversation with Dean Brown.

Quote:
Adam Deschambault ‏@TheQwardian
@PxPOttawa With all the injuries do you think Murray would get some one from Russia? Maybe even bring Filatov back over?

Feb 15 Dean Brown Dean Brown ‏@PxPOttawa
@TheQwardian no. The nhl and khl have an agreement to honour contracts so I don't see anyone coming from Russia.

Feb 15 Adam Deschambault Adam Deschambault ‏@TheQwardian
@PxPOttawa even thou the KHL regular season ends on Feb. 17th?

Feb 15 Dean Brown Dean Brown ‏@PxPOttawa
@TheQwardian I don't think so. I would be surprised.

Dean Brown doesn't even have a full understanding of the whole situation.

If he is under contract for this season, AND next season, there is no way he is coming here until after the contract is over.

Filatov can't play for the Sens if he's still under contract... just because of insurance and risk injuries.

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't radulov do this? He played with Nashville at the end of the season while still in a khl contract

Wasn't radulov still under contract with Nashville though? We retained Filatov's rights, but we did not sign him to my knowledge. Currently he only has a contract with a KHL team, correct me if I'm wrong.

Radulov was a free agent in the KHL when he came back to use up his NHL contract. Filatov was under contract with us when he went to Russia. We loaned him. We could ask for his team to loan him to us. We would have to sign him to a contract before he could play.
