So does Blum's name rhyme with plum? Or is it "Bloom"?
A lot of announcers like to say bloom

You know your team is hurting when they're double shifting Tootoo.

He never had a clean breakaway, and I'm pretty sure that would have been considered from the side and not from behind.

Overall, not a bad 1st period. We need to clean up some of the puck play (obviously). "Shorthanded" or not, Detroit still has guys that make you pay. We have to have awareness for not only where they play is, but which Detroit players are there.
We do have a PPG, but they are being very disruptive. I'd like to see some good even strength play in the 2nd.

Looking at the highlights Datsyuk is killing us and if it wasn't for Rinne he could have gotten a couple of goals. Overall though a good period. Got some good shots and scored on the PP even though only 1 of 4 and we gave them a goal on one of them.

If Kindl didn't have the Marty Erat Hat trick in that period then this game could easily be tied or worse

Maybe, maybe not. I think we played decently at even strength.
It certainly didn't help Detroit's cause that they were shorthanded 4 times...but after we scored our PPG, our PP looked worse than our 5 on 5 to be perfectly honest.

It did keep them on their heels killing those penalties even though they did get a shorty

Interesting goal scoring strategy. Just lift the goal and put it in from behind!

How many times do they have to say "defensive awareness" before the team wakes up?

When Rinne's NHL career is over he has a bright future as a Secret Service agent.

Colin Wilson is playing with more defensive awareness than our defensemen.

Well, Rinne's stats are getting better with each easy save.
