I know Kostitsyn and Grabovsky are Belarussian but the two countries are very close (unlike some other coutries of the USSR) and could possibly unofficially be labelled (bela)russian.

lol i understand what ur saying but the relation that Belarus-Russia have is much different than US-Canada. Belarus is constantly negotiating to become more russian. And belarus was part of the ussr.

Belarus and Russia have totally different alphabets for one very important thing. Russia uses the cyrillic script while Belarus uses the Latin alphabet, the same as us.

What the hell are you talking about? Both use cyrillic alphabet... actually 90% of Belarussians speak russian between themselves. Russian is an official language in Belarus.

Both use the cryllic alphabet. Russian is an official language in Belarus and the primary language of communication. A fair portion of Belorussians do not even know Belorussian. For countries that were one and same the country for a millenia or two and have inhabitants indistinguishable from one another ethnically - they are a tad closer than the USA and Canada. They are also in the middle of some sort of weird plan to unite at some point in the future.

Nope.. latin was used in some instances, but cyrillic was always the domminant script in Belarus.

wasnt belarus part of the USSR up until 1991 meaning grabo and kost were born in the USSR aswell
they declared the independance in 1990, established it 8 months after Kazakhstan but both Kostitsyn's and Grabo stayed in Belarus for a while and play for team Belarus, Perezhogin left Kazakhstan at a young age and grow in the Russian hockey system what none of the Kostitsyn's or Grabo did, so no they are not Russian but they where born in the USSR

I believe that Perezhogin left for Russia at 14 along with his coach. Andre Kostitsyn left for Russia at 17.
