Apparently Torts said : "2 bad teams playing. We were the worst"

The we is referring to the Rangers in case there's confusing.

Play Subban more, especially in the 3rd. He's young but he's also VERY in shape. Also cube is growing on me. Markov is playing okay for him, but he would benefit from a reduced TOI

Agreed. We were out-skated and out-muscled. We were a step behind most of the game. Our offense looked exhausted. It was our defensive system that stuck to its guns -- plus some luck -- that saved us.

Oh, I'm not complaining. Its about the only way they could have at least picked up a point. The number of icings they had is indicative of just how tired the entire team was. MT had the best possible game plan for the situation and got just enough out of the team to win. I'm very impressed.

Good ol' classic road game.

Prust was great.
Diaz..kudos to Gauthier and kudos to the scout that vouched for him.
Eller has been one of the better players the last 6-7-8 games. Finally getting put on a scoring line and looking good. His play along the boards is exceptional. Some questionable offensive plays here and there, but his defensive game is outstanding and severely underrated. The way he's played the last couple of weeks are why I still believe in his potential.

Had a feeling he would say something like that. He's not wrong, both teams looked awful.

Thought you guys might like this little tidbit from The Hockey News' "The Best of Hockey History". Tonight's game made me think of it:

"After the New York Americans ice the puck 61 times during a 3-2 win Dec.8 at Boston, Bruins owner Charles Adams demands the NHL introduce a rule calling for a faceoff in the defending team's zone when it elects to shoot the puck the length of the ice to relieve pressure. When his pleas fall on deaf ears, Boston makes a mockery of it's next game against the Americans, icing the puck 87 times in a 0-0 tie Jan.3 at New York. Despite these tactics, the icing rule will not be adopted until 1937-38."

I feel like NYR are going to pull something similar Saturday night

Personally, I had no problems with Bouillon signing with us at 1.5 mil. He's always been a steady player, well most of the time, and the guy can step it up in the playoffs.

Exactly. Look at Leafs struggling tonight. We did what we had to do - ice the puck. Ugly, yes; boring, yes, but does anyone outside of NY care right now?

Tortorella is the greatest troll.

As for the game:
- The Diaz - Gorges pair was awful tonight. Both players were turnovers machines.
- The players looked exhausted. No transition and no forechecking.
- The third line was great tonight. Eller is playing great, and Prust brings a lot of energy. Again, Prust was an awesome signing.
- A better night for the Desharnais line but they still look confused out there. They're all chasing the puck.
- The first and fourth line had an OK game.

Who sits when Gallagher is back?

Armstrong probably but that would mean either Prust or Gallagher on the fourth line.

Ya, Cube's been fine. Solid 2nd-3rd pairing guy that gives us a consistent effort.

I think it was Mike Johnson who said it yesterday. "Bouillon is fitting into that third pairing like a glove for them".

He's been incredible for a 37 year-old guy. You can tell how hard he worked in the off season. He's in crazy shape.

well well well... "And the first shall be last, and the last shall be first" kinda sums up whats going on in the nhl this year eh? Man it feels great to see the Habs sitting atop the east.. and what i love most about it is that MT is winning by adapting his game plan and changing things up when he needs to .. tonight was a completely different style than what we've seen and knowing his team was tired and that this was a big game he had the guys play a way that was very much like the 2010 play off style and that won them the game .. i gotta say i was very against MT but he has won me over.. literally. also Price was awesome .. max pacs seems to be rounding into form and GALCHENYUK BABY!

summed up ... I"M LOVIN IT!

Trivia........

5 years ago on this date, the Canadiens pulled off the greatest comeback in team history, coming from a 0-5 goal deficit to defeat the New York Rangers in OT.

Appropriate for this evening.
