habs press confrence

ready to start now on team 990

first question

is he a center or winger

gainey-we see him as a rw'er

why did you want to come back to the eastern confrence

sammy says ..

enjoyed his time with edmonton
montreal is the best fit for him

they cut it off .... after the first 2 questions

a right winger? Kovalev and Ryder our are top right wingers.

I'd rather him on the left side.

Right winger?!?!?
Where will that be on the depth chart?

We have Ryder, Kovalev, and Perez on RW, and we didn't sign Samsonov to play on the third line!

One of Kovalev or Ryder is out by the end of the month I predict.

I don't like this at all. Sammy or Ryder are not 3rd liners.

He also stated Johnson is the 3rd line rw'er.

Can Ryder play left wing?

Ultimately, it's not Gainey who makes the lines, it's Carbo.

I have faith our players will be utilized properly.

According to RDS, Sammy is a left-winger... I don't see the problem

Johnson on the 3rd line with Perez and Pleks

and Sammy with Ribeiro and Kovy

I think Kovy has enough talent to go to the left wing if he must, but I think Sam will end up as LW anyways.

well i speculated kovy might be gone . just like zednik he spoke out toward the club and kovy actually spoke out toward gainey . dont be suprised .

ryder only gainey knows about the arbration case. it's never been a easy signing with ryder .we got to many rw'ers though that for sure

EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED ... so far today this is very true

He is a left winger, when playing with the B's he was on the left side, and usually Murray on the right...

He does on the PP. Although it is alot harder to protect the puck when you're RH on the LW. Don't see that move working out. Sammy is a LW, I'm sure Bob was talking about Johnson as the RW not Center.

Ryder can be moved to LW...

Higgins - Koivu - Samsonov
Ryder - Ribs - Kovalev
Perez - Pleks - Johnson

I think there's still more to come...

- Montreal only started showing interest today and the deal was done hours later

As a RH shot myself, I can tell you that it doesn't work out playing LW. You need to be a really great skater to do that and Ryder is not.

Works great on the PP but not 5 on 5.

According to their website, he's a left wing. Problem solved.
