Absolutely. They can call it 'reaching for the puck' all they want, but that's a huge forearm blow.

Are you kidding? Yes, he should.

Anything less than 3 games would be a joke.

A head shot is a head shot, intentional or unintentional. Should be in control of yourself when near the head.

@JoshRimerHockey: Been told to expect that Jannik Hansen will have a hearing at some point for his head shot to Hossa! NHL looking at it now.

I totally agree too. It was intentional and it was reckless. He definitely should get at least a 3 game suspension.

This. The fact is he delivered a blindside hit to the head. That warrants a suspension every time.

I'm getting tired of the suspensions. Big ass fines should be the remedy.

Hansen: "Apparently I hit him in the back of the head, it's what the ref was telling me"

What a joke.

I don't think there is any doubt he's getting a call from Shannaban. The only question is: Is he a first time offender? That will dictate what happens.

You don't get paid for the days your are suspended. A suspension is a de facto fine...

IMHO the best way to handle it would be to fine the teams a significant amount and not the player. Can you imagine how quickly cheap shots would be eliminated if owners were forced to come out of pocket to pay fines because one of their players is an idiot. Guys like Torres would be out of a job in a week.

This about sums it up to me...weather he was reaching for the puck or not, you need to be in control of your body.. Similarly to being in control of your stick...

I don't think it was intentional.. but I'll say 2 games. It was a borderline play on a league star, the league would look bad if they did nothing.

Hansen is just trying to protect himself from further punishment with his comments. And by punishment, I mean punches to the face.
