Does Tampa really want to be changing anything up right now?

At least I wasn't the only one that bit.

How much of a change is trading Bergeron? He's barely played. Wouldn't do much to the team if he's shipped out.

Meh, I bet the Rangers could take a chance on him. Pair him with Staal on the PP and no ES/PK time. His defense is just as bad if not worse than Stu Bickel, which says quite a bit.

Maybe Ottawa is interested in Gilroy?

Oh I actually did not realize he'd played that little

I would really rather not have MAB. We're fine without him -- would rather go for someone that could help us long term like Yandle or Tyutin...(don't think we're willing to move the assets required for Yandle).

When I saw the title for this thread, I literally said out loud to no one "F***in' take him!"

Considering the last transaction between these franchises was Lee for Gilroy, I suppose this wouldn't be the first time that phrase has been uttered about a Tampa Bay-Ottawa trade.

Hopefully this has something to do with Wiercioch being a part of a trade for O'Reilly.

Would welcome any addition on the current Sens defense, at least Bergeron will be able to contribute at one end of the ice, unlike some of the other D on the team.

We could use a warm body.

This would be to fill a roster spot and let the Sens send a kid back to the minors. Not much more than that.

That's pretty bang on IMO. No risk move, the guy can obviously produce offensively given his career stats, always had a decent shot from the point. I don't mind it and I think the value you have there is about right.

ok, but my confusion comes from the Wiercioch for O'Reilly... is it speculation, a rumour, a random thought? Why Wiercioch?

A little bit of rumour, a lot of speculation.

Sens appear to be in on O'Reilly, and apparently the Avs want an offensive defenseman coming back. Given that Wiercioch played for Denver in college, and is a talented young offensive defenseman that has a future in the league, it's not hard to imagine they want him included.

I'm not saying Wiercioch has been traded, but if Murray is exploring the option of trading him, he may also be exploring the option of replacing him from outside the organization, hence the inquiry about Bergeron.

Makes sense I guess.

Don't want to see Wiercioch traded though. He's a long term top 4 d-man imo. Perfect guy to play behind Cowen on LD.

True, but players like O'Reilly don't become available too often. He's pretty much a Patrice Bergeron in the making.

If the Sens get O'Reilly, they'd have to be cool with O'Reilly and Turris as their top 2 centres. I don't see them paying O'Reilly to centre the 3rd line.

That means Spezza is gone, which isn't likely.

Isn't Campoli still out there? Why doesn't Ottawa just sign him instead of trading any assets...whether it be a pick or a prospect for MAB. Makes no sense to me.

I think I even rather have Campoli if I'm being honest.
