#Blackhawks coach Joel Quenneville said winger Marian Hossa "seemed okay" after the game vs. #Canucks

I really think whiplash may be the case and that the two-goal lead played a role in his lack of a return. I pray to the lord this isn't another concussion.

Right, doesn't mean he'll be back Friday but it wasn't immediately devastating. He won't play Friday against a physical sharks team then let him rest vs a bad Columbus team. Hawks have points to burn so let him rest

I'm hoping he just got scared and stayed down to draw something. They took him out of the game as precaution. Good to be positive sometimes!!!

Hoping that taking him out was just precautionary, and he won't be out for long. Who do you think draws in for Hoss if he's out? Carbomb should be getting close but I'm not sure I would want to replace Hossa with Carcillo.

Stalberg moves up, Carcillo to the 3rd line

Wouldn't mind if he didn't play Friday or sunday/monday. Would prefer he got rest and healed up as much as possible. We can afford a loss or two at this point if it means Hoss will recover.

Yeah, though I don't think the 2-goal lead played into it. You just have to be incredibly cautious with a situation like that with a player coming off a lengthy concussion-related absence. I do think the shot was intentional, but there wasn't a whole lot of force behind it, so I'm guessing the decision was just precautionary. 2 days off before the next game, so hopefully he'll be right back in the lineup.

And any talk about Sedin deserving his shot to the head is absurd (though I see the post in question has been edited by a mod). Yeah, it was payback, but it was extremely excessive payback. Anyone who argues otherwise loses all credibility when discussing other similar injuries.

Well if Dr. Quenneville, Blackhawks' neurologist says he's fine...

My thoughts exactly. Give Stalberg or Bickell a shot in the top 6 or call up someone like Jayes/Morin/Pirri/Smith for a couple of games. The Hawks are in first and can afford to let Hossa take his time to recover.

I know Hoss is hurt and this isn't really a topic we should be laughing about, but god this made me laugh so hard.

Hossa skated off and didn't look shaky or bewildered. I think he stayed down to be sure. Getting up quick could have made it worse. Give Hoss a couple of games rest and he should be good to go. This will also give management and us fans a chance to see how the Hawks play without Hoss and if they will pick up the slack and play even harder.

Don't tell me what I can't say. It looked to me like Hansen was taking advantage of the situation to make it look like he was going toward the puck but his intention was to hit Hossa - in the back of the head - with his forearm.

It is no coincidence that Hansen and other Canucks play dirty - it is condoned and accepted throughout the organization and has been for years. And then Keith goes and does his dirty cheap shot and that's all Canuck fans talk about. Remember Mitchell blasting into Toews and giving him a concussion. Remember Torres cheap shotting Seabrook and giving him a concussion. Not to mention all the other shenanigans that Canuck players like Burrows, Bieksa, Edler and others have pulled over the last few years. But yet all we hear about is Keith is a dirty player.

Hope Hossa is okay, sad to see him down like that again.

Unfortunately with head injuries you never know, tomorrow could be vastly different than tonight. Glad Coach Q avioded his normal hysterics in the post-game when something goes wrong.

The league should take a long look at this.

They should reward someone from Rockford for 2 games. Whether Hossa is alright or not it would be wise to give him 2 games rest.

With concussions - often the symptoms don't show up right away. Sometimes it takes a day or two or longer. Hossa is too valuable to come back before he is 100% certain everything feels right. I agree with others who think he should be held out for at least a couple games and then see how he is.

Rest him as a precaution til hes 100%.

I think the Hawks have enough depth to keep them going.

Whats most important is that hes back for the playoffs.

And Alain Vigneault got asked if he thinks there is going to be discipline for the hit and he said "not a chance" according to Chris Kuc also.

Canucks are complete scum
