Gainey needs to get Marleau now.........

Gainey needs to trade for big Marleau, a perfect fit between Samsonov and Kovalev!!

How about this trade:

To Mon: Marleau and Hannan
To SJ: Souray, Ribeiro, Bonk and a 1st round pick

Works out like this:
Souray, Bonk and a 1st for Marleau
Ribeiro for Hannan

Too much..........too little..........lopsided.........what would be a better option???

Waaaay too little. Marleau isn't going anywhere (or shouldn't) after the post-season he had.

My guess is that is would require Souray, Perezhogin or Kots and a 2nd round pick to pry Marleau away...

They still wouldn't got for it.

Marleau is untouchable imo, and Hannan has established himself as a top D-man.

i believe hannan is an ufa next year, just like souray (they had similar stats, with souray being the much better pp player). but we'd be giving up A LOT for marleau.
komi, kost, first...
that's a lot
oh and ribs
hehehe

but alas...marleau is an untouchable, one of the best centers in the game (not easy to come by).

Was I honestly serious about getting Marleau??
ABSOLUTLEY

Was I serious about dumping Ribeiro in San Jose as part of a deal?
ABSOLUTELY

Did I think it was truly fair??
Not even in the video game world!!

This is what I truly think.....

Souray, deep down, wants to be close to his daughter in California. So, he needs to be part of the deal.
What it would realy take to get Marleau and Hannan??
A whole lot more than what Mon can offer without comprimising their future!

If the Shark would trade Marleau it would be more like they`re hitting their noses on the cap and have to trade a big player. But a team like us would have to give a our Top draft pick, then Corey Price, then Sourey(still one of the best D in league) with maybe Ryder along with Abby.

To get some discusion going about Marleau to the Habs! This is how 50% of the rumors start, you know!
Sure, it was completely lopsided, but it had some basis to it!

Hannan is their #1 D,if Markov is not in the deal the Sharks are dumb.I also think a prospect would be going the other way like a Plekanec or Perezhogin

A trade between SJ and MTL would only bring truth to the expression opposites attrack.

SJ: Size, Power, Speed, Scoring in the likes of Thornton, Cheechoo, Marleau, Bell, Bernier

MTL: Speed in the likes of all players but Ribs, Ryder and Bonk

So ok they have something in common...

markov>>>>>>>>>hannan.

markov has norris candidate written all over him. hannan doesn't even have that kind of ceiling. he logs a ton of minutes because he doesn't make mistakes, in terms of offense...he doesn't generate ANYTHING.
