...and Gainey knows this. I expect another trade, perhaps smaller scale. Sort of surprised we didn't sign Brashear.

Totally agree. Like the moves today but some size and/or grit is needed on those top 3 lines.

We did fine without it last year. Kovy is a pretty strong guy, and we have some of the fiercest checkers, just because some of our guys are small doesn't mean that they don't know how to dole out some punishment.

My best guess is size will be dealt with if needed during the season or durning next years free agent season.

Can't wait to play teams like the Flyers and their molasses defence. Speed kills.

I agree speed is the way of the new NHL. Who did Buffalo have that was big if it weren't for some freak accidents to their D I think they would have won it all this year.

Yeah, they may not have beat Edmonton but I do believe that they would have taken out Carolina. I can't believe how disappointed I still am that they won the cup.

the size could come up with the youngster, I think about Latendresse et Chipchura...

I there's not alot of spot available, but I think that Muller and Carbo will love Kyle and he'll get a spot... I mean he's a future captain kyle and who's better than captain kirk to show him the road...

So I think that Bonl won't make the cut

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: bring in Kvasha for 1 year and make him work his butt off. Count on him being 3rd line and he can work his way to 2nd.

Guy is 6'5" and shoots right--and he will come very, very cheap.

Size is OVERRATED in the New NHL. Speed and grit are more important.

agreed, it's so overrated. why care about size when you have a smaller player that's faster and works hard to make up for his lack of size?

Personally I think we've always had too much grit...if such a thing is possible. We've always had too many grinders who play tough but can't finish. Unless the NHL is heading back to the obstruction days, the more speed and skill, the better.

Kvasha has size and speed. He's lacking in other departments though.

our roster right now;

Higgins - Koivu - Ryder

Sammy - Ribeiro - kovy

Plek - Bonk - Johnson

Latendresse - Begin - Murray

We still have Ribeiro as our second line center...

Plese Bob trade for lang

we got rid of zednik... we picked up johnson for line 3... we added sammy's speed and flare...

if we do anything else, i expect it to be involving Ribeiro... or do something totally screwy and make a trade involved defensemen (trading away and for)

Holland in Detroit is sure taking his time (and perhaps coming to his senses) with the Belfour thing.

I wonder what the odds of Abby and Ribs going to Detroit for Lang and a pick...ahh yes, another ex-Bruin (short lived as it was).

BTW - a little size on top 6 wouldn't hurt...

i don't really want lang, to be honest with you...

i wouldn't be against trading ribeiro and a defenseman for a better defenseman... trying bonk on the 2nd line... have perez-pleks-johnson as our 3rd line and go with that
