Let's hope that they saved all of their energy for tomorrow night because the Kings did not play their best tonight, but a win is a win and they have to carry some momentum over and start a streak.

Quick looked like his old self. Hopefully we can sustain this kind of effort tomorrow and generate some real momentum for a playoff push.

The Oilers have a SERIOUS problem, they have 14 even strength goals in 15 games. The next worst are three teams tied with 21 (The Kings are one of those with 21, but we have played one fewer game). If you can shut down the Oilers PP, they pretty much have no chance

But the NHL is conspiring against Edmonton!

Not the most inspiring win, but I'll take it.

We need a lot more from Kopitar and Brown. It will come in time.

They have zero breakout ability. Could really use that Lubo guy, what they got for him doesn't remotely measure up to how much he'd help them if he was on their squad.

This was the first game Brown actually looked like he remembered how to hit. That stint during the lockout in the Swedish non-hitting league messed with his head bigtime.

Is Kopi still wearing that knee brace? Expected much more out of him this year, especially having played in Europe.

Loved that hit by Brown. Hopefully it jump starts something.

Pretty sure he was in Switzerland :-)
But, yeah, he really hasn't seemed on his game much this season. He seems a lot more flat-footed and trying to react rather than initiate.

Brown needs to hit more, that always gets his entire game going, his kick start is so obvious, but when he doesnt hit, he never gets going.

Also, I am really shocked how much the Flyers boards still talk about Richards and Carter.

Nice to see Quick have a real Quick-like game and not a "Not-his-fault" kind of game. He was really needed early on in the game and he kept it scoreless. The first periods have been an issue so far. Could have been again tonight, but he stood tall.

Nice to see some points from unexpected sources tonight ... Lewis with a pair of helpers, A goal from Fraser against his old team, Stoll with the empty net and that Doughty-kid even had a point.

The Oilers have a lot of talent, but their big line with RNH, Hall, Eberle, Justin Schultz still came up -3.

5-on-5 that team is just too young and small. Those are young men playing against actual men most nights.

How many times did the Oilers run into each other? I counted twice when three players collided.

I disagree. Granted, he's not his usual self, but he still had an average game. There were three key offensive chances he had/caused:

- The shot on goal his first shift, where he skated down with speed.
- That drive to the net when Williams and him had a give-and-go
- That beautiful set up for Brown when he found the seam and passed it to him... unfortunately Brown acted like he was more shocked he received a pass and shot it way too late.

This is on top of helping out defensively, which he has still been disciplined about.

Brown was terrible, and Doughty was garbage.

As far as I'm concerned a win is a win. I don't think anybody is happy about the lack of effort. But the team got the 2 points.

Those are extremely low standards for our 7 million dollar first line center. A shot on goal and two passes? Brown needs to be a lot better but to act as if he's the only forward not pulling his weight is way off base. And expectations for Kopitar should be much higher than those for Brown.
