This isn't about burger joints in Edmonton really. I have a question that will probably be best answered from someone who is, was, or their family is or was in the Military.
I remember playing in the DND arena's as a kid, and the red hamburger sauce they used in their burgers was friggin awesome (at the time, anyways). I can let you know that I played in and around the Penhold base and Red Deer/Innisfail.
Anybody out there know what I'm talking about?
If you do, I sure want to find out how to make it.
It was a staple for the hockey players after a game.

cool place, awesome selection of soda, and great burgers! tons of ways to customize your own, but a lot of delicious menu burgers too.
just went to the burger jointhttp://www.facebook.com/pages/the-bu...799037?sk=wall located at 9132-23av in a little strip mall just east of south common on 23rd ave on the north side of the avenue btwn 99th and 91st.
Its kind of an odd location, but i hope they make a go of it. Price was 40 bucks for three people, including burgers, fries, pop. They have beef, lamb, jerk chicken, veggie and donair burgers. You can order one of the signature burgers or create your own from bun to condiments/cheese etc...
I will be going back for sure. It was very tasty. Much better than fatburger imo. Check them out if you get the chance and the earth moves you. for all you single guys out there, the girl serving you is very fine indeed. Friendly, fast service, pretty clean inside. Go check it out.
Just went there yesterday for the first time in a long time. She was no longer there. Instead it was a mid forties Indian man. The burger was outstanding though. Probably the best Ive ever had there.
Thinking about it makes me want to go back right now.

Had the Mac-attack. WOW it was good
Soda Jerks is great. Highly recommend going there. Great way of customizing your own burgers as well.
Never been a fan of Soda Jerks. That being said, I prefer the rarer lamb burgers and bison burgers. Even Albert's makes a better bison burger than most haute cuisine beef burgers. Just my tastebuds.

If you're a golfer and you like Bison burgers, the clubhouse at Sturgeon golf course makes a pretty mean one.
Has anyone managed to find a medium rare burger in Edmonton, a la Buchanans in Calgary? I asked for one at MKT a little while back and the waitress looked at me like I was from another planet.
