for Brian Boyle? I don't think so. How about Gerbe, though?

I don't think Gaunce projects as much more than Brian Boyle.

Strong 3C with size, and a physical side.

I have wanted Boyle since he was in the LA organization and they kept doing stupid experiments with him.

Although I would be willing to do a trade of our 1st this season --or a swap of 1sts, this isnt the player that commands getting into a top 10 pick. A 25 Minute RHD is what id reserve that asset for.

I also think a blue chip -Marincin++ is also out of the question. For a guy like Boyle I would think it would be

Blue chip prospect like Marincin (who is with Klefbom as our top incoming Ds and both are RHDs which come at a premium)
OR
Jones + our 2nd.

If that doesnt do it than there is no deal to be made.

For the record I think Klefbom is the better talent but Marincin is a solid piece i have a tough time thinking of giving up. Klefbom Marincin and Musil i feel are our big 3 d prospects and it really has to make sense for us to move any of those 3.

Would something like:

Olivier Roy/Tobias Rieder + EDM 2nd '13 for Boyle work?

This is about the future or now.
Brendan projects as a good 3rd line checking center in a couple of years, wins face offs, has some playmaking skills and good size, but his skating needs improvement (Just like Boyle ).
Boyle is 6'7 and hits anything that moves, one of our best defensive FO guy, main pk er, is counted on to protect the lead late in the game, and has a very cap friendly contract.
Why do the Rangers have to add a 3rd again?
I seriously doubt Torts would allow Sather to trade Boyle, but I would do it heads up.

I could see that, as long as that is a slash meaning "or" and not a plus.

I think Tambo should be fired if he is unwilling to actually fix holes. Personally i dont really see him moving prospects because he is chicken*** but in real life if not run by a moron i would say the Oilers would be interested in trading prospect+pick for Boyle. Depends on the prospect of course... pretty tough to trade a Klefbom Musil or Marincin for anything other than a package to get a key piece premium acquistion.

I understand the Oilers will not be dipping into FA pool for a while and are gun shy -as they should be about it- but it doesnt mean you stop doing business.
I think there are alot of GMs and fired GMs that are scratching their heads about the Oilers and why they dont make moves. Im sure more than a few would love to take Tambos job and get this ball rolling.

What else would the NYR include to get ROR from Colorodo?
What would the Oilers have to send you to make a deal
