While not the best of writers, he sure makes up for it with sheer effort. That's character.

Jeff o neill summed it up in a tweet earlier:
"O'Reilly 18 goals career high. Get on the ice. Greedy agent. Period."

Ryan O´Reilly was 2nd in character last season, according to the official NHL stats.

I questioned the authenticity of this email several times while reading it. It is that much of a disaster unfortunately.

Just the fact that he's a "Life Coach" made me dislike him from the beginning. What a stupid made up job, if he was anybody he would at least have training, I bet he did a weekend course on positive thinking once and now he considers himself a certified "Life Coach"

His stats are not bad but they are not worth 5.5 mil per

But Colorado is not.
He might also not like the secretive management, crowd support, or just the general direction in where the team is going.

That was different. Turris didn't wanna re-sign because he didn't like Dave Tippett and the Phx system because he felt he was being misused or whatever and couldn't produce there. I think the Yotes initially offered him more $ than what he signed for in the end. He ended up signing because they probably said in principle that they would agree to trade him elsewhere.

With O'Reilly, it seems like it was just about him wanting $5 M+ long term instead of $3.5-4 M in either short term or long term.

The sick part is there are a lot of big companies that pay these losers tens to hundreds of thousands to come speak and create motivational schemes.

I read one paragraph and my head felt like someone was trying to drive nails through it.

EDIT: After reading through it, I've summed it up: basically, Ryan has character and therefore Colorado needs to give him what he wants.

That's what's he's seriously asking for? Holy cow.

He's got two 26 points seasons and last year a carreer high 55 pt season. $5.5 mil would be insane. Why not sign a short contract for less, prove you might be able to produce at the last season's pace, and if you do, then you can go for the big bucks. Otherwise, you look ridiculous.

Ya he wants a ridiculous amount of money because he doesn't like the team. Same thing Turris did.
You don't know how ROR feels about Sacco and the future of the franchise.

But if he is #2 in the league in character shouldn't he put his teammates first and lead on the ice?

If I'm the Avs I'd let him sit this whole season and approach him again sometime in August unless I get an offer that blows my mind.

Nahhhh it's not THAT on TOP of RoR holding out...it's JUST because of RoR holding out.

Man, I feel bad for the Avs and Sens... Injuries suck when they hit the team, but it's rare to see two teams loose all their best players. (minus Duchene).

So I guess this means he'll get traded to the Flyers for Forsberg('s autographed jersey) and then things will go south when Philly's medical staff leaves him in a hotel room to die.

Shouldn't the title read "O'Reilly's dad goes full Lindros' mom" ?

Or "... goes full Bonnie Lindros" ?
