Just wondering if Magnus Paajarvi would be available if the price was right from Nashville.

What kind of trade would it take? and is it realistic?

Hard to pinpoint PRV's value right now.

It's hard to make a proposal without upsetting Oil fans, and Pred fans.

Yes he could be . It would depend on what is being offered . As an Oiler fan I am not going to name a price ,but would listen to offers

This is why i said i would not make an offer , but would listen to them

I would probably like to see a late 1st rd pick for this years draft , but on the other hand we need to start winning . We do not need to keep getting draft picks , we need some vet .

If MPS gets moved i think he would be part of a bigger package to get a bigger name player. Just by himself I don't think the would fetch the kind of player that will make a difference and I certainly do not want to get rid of the guy as in my opinion he's going to develop into a great 3rd line player.

i mean from the preds boards, I think ita about 60/40, 70/30 depending on who you talk to but I believe that Blum would probably be available as well as some of our minor line guys, i.e) Watson, Beck, etc.

I believe we would probably use Blum to fetch a 2nd line or 1st line guy, obviously packaged with some other players, but personally I'm a fan of Paajarvi and think he has really good potential.

Be tough to break up a piece of that young core though..

I think Edmonton would move him, hes not as core as some of the core players in the core.

we may not throw blum into a deal for paajarvi because I think he would be part of a bigger deal for a bigger player but i could see some prospects for him. just depends on what EDM believes his value is...

then again, Poile might make 1-2 moves at most and it has to be the right one, who knows he may be conservative

He's big, fast, and fantastic defensively... We need guys like that. He's going to be easier to get than Hall, but that doesn't make him available

2 things to keep in mind.

1- We have a lot of weaknesses.

2- We only have so many assets that we want to move.

Prv probably is someone that can be had, but it better be to fill a need. Otherwise no deal. Picks and prospects don't fit the bill.

Blum+ Spaling?

I don't know if I'd do it but it seems like fair value.

A year or two ago I would have traded Ellis for him and it was proposed here several times. These days? I don't think so.

This is pretty much how I see it as well. His offensive stats will not help his value, but he has played very well lately. Since the Oilers have talent to fill the top 4 winger spots they need to develop some good but cheap bottom six players. So while it was not what was predicted he could still turn out to be a very valuable contributor.

As to Jon Blum, I'd pass. The 2010-2011 version had a lot of value, but his play seemed to regress a lot last year. I have not seen him play this year so I might be wrong but his TOI numbers suggest that he has still not really etablished himself. (Has he been hurt?) At 24 that is a bit of a concern. So while I like him as a player I would not want the Oilers to trade Paajarvi for him.

That said I am surprised that Paajarvi would be a guy that the Preds might covet.

He's playing extremely well. For that reason, I wouldn't trade him for MPS, and certainly not Ellis.

If one if those guys is traded, it's part of a package for a bigger deal.

Klein just signed for way too little money for five years. He's rock solid, munches minutes, and we would be in a world of hurt without him. Not available.
