Philadelphia scored a TD and had an XP to win 7-0.

Totally didn't realize this (or more like just forgot), but Columbus has their own first round pick as well as LA's, which are both top 5 picks at this point in time.

I'm pulling for both of them to tank now. Could you imagine Mackinnon and Jones on the same team? Or the Mackinnon-Drouin pairing being brought directly to the NHL.

Time for optimism if you're a Jackets fan, just gotta hope the Kings don't put it together.

Considering the Jackets are about to be in the Southeast, I'd rather that not happen

Seriously? Have you seen this kids interviews? He's too much if a goober to have a bad attitude. He's happy to be at the rink every day and it shows. He's too one dimensional and inconsistent. Well he couldn't have worked on that any harder these last two years, so now is the time where we reward him with a real chance.

The reason he won't make it is strength. He gets knocked over too easy. People have accused him of being a peripheral player. He sticks his nose into everything, he just gets knocked around every time he does. He needed St. Louis tree stumps for legs to make up for being small. Just isn't there and to me that's the reason he won't make it. Still, he did everything asked of him last season and early this season. He deserved a longer shot at a real spot this year, and instead we waived him after one game. If he played 15 games on the top 3 lines and it didnt work I wouldn't care if we dropped him. We never did. That's why I still make the conversation. Everyone had an issue about him, and he responded. That's the guy you give the chance to. The pens saw enough in him to try him out where they did, and we gave him one game. Our third line is a shapeless mess. That's the chance he deserved. He isn't a first line guy but he might've shown something on the third. Could do no worse than bowman.
By and large agree and it's comical how the the work ethic stuck over the reality of his regular participation in Crash Conditioning program in Calgary.

And anybody who watched him with any degree of objectivity would know the peripheral player tag was not accurate in the least. It seems some people make prospect predictions and then project them on a player to support their original opinion regardless of whether there is any basis in fact. I've heard him called soft as well which is also not correct. As stated, he may never make it but not for many of the reasons that regularly get thrown out.

Ducks extend Viktor Fasth two years, $2.9 million average. I'm sure Andersen is loving his choice to re-enter the draft right about now.

I bet the agent thought that Frederick would be a UFA, meaning he would sign a nice fat UFA contract (relatively). Gotta get that 10%.

Now, he's stuck behind Hiller, Fasth and John Gibson. Sucks to be you!

Not quite.

Reading the Ducks forum, it sounds like they'll likely trade Hiller in the offseason (to not only give Hiller a chance to start somewhere, but free up space to sign Getzlaf/Perry), then go into next season with a Fasth/Andersen combination.

Sort of a 1A/1B situation. Which, to be fair, is still probably a better deal than he would have gotten here.

Sounds about right.

Still very bitter about losing the only successful 7th rounder we have ever drafted.

I don't hate the guy... but his agent, yeah that's another matter entirely.

Of course, we couple always extend Ellis after the season and have a real nice 1/2 punch of our own. But I get the feeling he'll be given the opportunity to start elsewhere.

I don't really blame the guy or his agent.

He (and his agent) saw the writing on the wall, and knew that Ward is likely going to be the starter for the majority of Ward's career. So he left elsewhere to see if he can't win the starter spot on a team that's a little more tumultuous in their starting goaltender position.

And if Anaheim does go with Fasth/Andersen as a 1A/1B, that's likely going to be his best shot. When Fasth struggles (and I don't doubt that he will at some point), it'll be on Andersen to get his chance.

Eat crow sunshine!

It does seem that Pegula is committed to doing whatever it takes to win MULTIPLE. STANLEY. CUPS. in Buffalo, though. We'll have to see how this works out for them...any ideas on potential replacements?

There was no edit.

And I can't help but laugh at this article from yahoo posted 45 minutes ago:

Quote:
Ruff then cut short his availability with reporters after suggesting more changes could be on the horizon because ''it isn't working the way we're going.'' He didn't specify what those changes might be.
