Jonas Hiller

You all knew this was coming with the news of Viktor Fasth signing an extension today. I expect the Ducks to keep both goalies for the remainder of this season. What would Hiller be worth to your team, at the draft, with one year remaining at $4.5MM?

That was Fasth

Personally I'd ask for a first AT the draft and a top 6 forward.

Jonas Hiller

Now that Viktor Fasth has gotten his 2 year 5.8 million dollar contract you can expect the rumors of a Hiller trade to kick into high gear and with Dave Nonis going on TSN radio and flat out saying he wants a vet goalie Toronto will likely be the primary team in those rumors.

So if a deal is struck what will it take?

4.5 for another season.. Playing like crap, I would hope not much for the Leafs since they'd surely lose Scrivens to waivers.

Hiller at the deadline

with Fasth being signed for another 2 seasons and looking like a strong number 1 option. (yes, still early in his NHL career)

Let's say he continues to play well and Anaheim explores moving Hiller at the deadline

what would teams be willing to give up?

4.5 cap hit.. signed through the end of next season.

He's worth at least a 1st + a prospect. Starting NHL goalies do not grow on trees (for those that doubt the value)

Ya I was thinking top 4 D-Man and a depth scorer

or a top 6 player and a pick

Well yea, he's awesome but with the health scare last year and play of Reimer.. I don't see the point of locking in another 5 million towards our cap.

Seriously, why would the Leafs do this? They have two goalies who have been playing very well, and are on good contracts.

He played really well the other night. Overall though, how do you justify it? Scrivens let in a couple last night where I shook my head but so do most others. Reimer has been really good for the most part. Hiller just has some question marks on where his game really is.

I wouldnt be against it in theory but I definitely wouldnt give up much. I do however support acquiring Hiller much more than Luongo, simply due to his contract.

I love Reimer BUT concussion last year, injured again this year he might be fragile. I know Hiller had a scare but overall he's been healthy

I don't want to give Hiller to Toronto. Just interested in what was being said.

Hiller has been injury prone and he is 30 now. So it might be hard to get a 1st from another team, especially in this coming draft. I would say a 2nd + Neuvirth.

According to this we are 9th in GAA and T3 for SV%.

What makes you think we currently need to trade for a goalie?

So funny. 7 games into the season and he is crap? How long did it take Kessel to get his first goal?

Merged the three new threads. (Didn't want to add the old one with the Leafs in there, given the way that thread developed.)

EDIT: God damnit. I wanted it to be just "Jonas Hiller" without the Leafs in the title, but for some reason, I can't figure out how to edit the title anymore. The posts are already edited, but it seems like the merging made that title fixed. Or probably something else I can't figure out.

EDIT2: Found an alternative way after stopping to be blind.

Right, a 5 million dollar vet, that would cost assets to aquire? I'm sure thats exactly what he meant.

So you think the Leafs should be completely ignorant of his crappy start?

We have a goalie who stands on his head when we play him, the problem is he gets injured WAY too much. I'm just not sure coughing up value for Hiller is the right thing to do at this point.. Don't act like you can't see it.

How is he injury prone? He had 1 freak injury which ruined his Vezina season. Last year he played 73 games
