Kings Sign Brendan Buckley

A depth signing for Manchester. Any thoughts on this guy?

I know some people in Manchester are not gonna be happy...

Buckley is the player who injured Yannick Lehoux a couple years back.

Wow, just wow...I honestly can't think of a player that many Monarchs fans would prefer not to see in Manchester more than Buckley...I can't wait until the UL runs this story...

Looks like they've filled the need for a tough defenseman.

Yeah I remember the whole Lehoux thing and then Parros pummeled Buckley and chased him around as did Rullier I think.

Bottom line is Lehoux is gone and Parros is in the show, so I dont think it will be that big of a deal...

Not if Manchester fans feel that the lose of Lehoux that year ruined their season.

Buckley is garbage. I'd rather they brought back Kuznetsov...

Good point. Honestly, even when I look beyond the Lehoux incident I just don't like the signing. The guy is a fringe AHL player that they'll likely market as their ""veteran" leadership for Manchester. The Managers may have changed but this looks like the same old Kings MO of trying to recycle trash...

If it's a joke, well...it's not funny.
I hope someone runs him at the 1st practice.

It's tough. I would liken it to the Kings signing Andy Sutton (if I recall correctly, he was the guy that took out Allison).

Incidentally, what kind of veteran signing would the folks in Manchester rejoice over?

A Ted Donato or Bryan Muir type. A guy that's spent some time in the show and is working to get back there. A guy who's 29 (30 in Feb.), has never been and isn't likely to ever get to the NHL, isn't my idea of a "veteran"...

well, a guy that has toiled in obscurity for as long as BB has, is, in fact, a "veteran" --- not unlike a Seeley or a Rullier. Enjoy

Muir is a veteran...

Buckley, Seeley and Rullier aren't even tweeners...

Buckley absolutely ruined the Monarchs season last year because he intentionally TOOK OUT the monarchs most important player last season.

I guarentee that the monarchs fans will not forgive buckley for what he did.

Lehoux was leading the league in goals, assists and points at the time of his injury.

I was thinking more of Louie DeBrusk, the guy that ended DT's career.

I watched Buckley play at Boston College. He's a minor leaguer at best. Has some good moments in college, but not someone who I would expect to make much of an impact on an NHL roster. Good kid, though.
