Detroit Red Wings general manager Ken Holland announced Wednesday that veteran forward Mikael Samuelsson has a non-displaced fractured finger and will miss a minimum of two weeks, according to a report by Detroit Free Press beat writer Helene St. James.
Every once in a while, fresh blood's needed in an organization, so probably a smart move by the Sabres on that front alone. It's more surprising that any coach that never won a championship could last that long, which is why that's so rare (outside Nashville).
Sure Ruff will be behind the bench again by the start of the next season.
Not surprised that Ruff is gone. It looked like the time was coming. I am a little surprised at the timing. I figured it would happen at the end of the season, but from the sounds of it the owner was getting frustrated that he promised results after purchasing the team and it wasn't happening.
I am sure he will find another gig before too long.
I extracted the pics from the video of Hansen elbowing Hossa in the head and from the pics you can clearly see that Hossa had already knocked the puck down out of the air before Hansen's arm actually went up and Hansen's arm was bent the whole time. What Hansen did to Hossa was no accident. After he did it, he looked down on Hossa to admire his sick workmanship. The pictures prove that Hansen's hit on Hossa was a deliberate intent to injure and not just some freak accident.
