Ducks already have Fowler, Beauchemin, Souray, Allen, Lydman, Sbisa, and Lovejoy (who's been great), with Vatanen and Lindholm in the pipeline. Tyutin is good, but he'll just add to the stockpile. Might as well trade for a forward instead, which they can always use more of. The Ducks could really benefit with another top 9 guy (preferably a LW or C)

I think you're confusing pre-vertigo Hiller with post-vertigo Hiller. He hasn't been top 10 since he had the vertigo IMO

Hiller was one of the best goalies during the second half of last season. Go look at his stats from January 1st to the end of the season.

2nd half of last season he was in pre-vertigo Hiller form. Post-vertigo Hiller was bad, yes, but the team in front of him was worse. Just like how this season the team plays 10x better defense, and better as a whole for that matter, in front Fasth, for whatever reason. Not saying Hiller has been great, but without him wed have gotten run out of our own building by the NHL's worst team. I think once he finds his rythym we see what he can do.

as the poster above me said starting last year he regained his form. it seems like post-vertigo is definitely less consistent than pre-vertigo though

as for the team playing better in front of hiller. I think for the CBJ game they wre just tired.

It's a joke that dates back to last year when the media was floating rumors about a ridiculous Ryan + Hiller for Ryan Miller trade.

Yeah but its not really such a bad idea. You really want to put the weight of a possible cup run solely on Victor Fasth? You guys get Miller to split time with him, and I think the chances of a cup run (a great sendoff for Teemu) go up a lot.

It seems that the Sabres are in shakeup mode, just floating the idea again.

We go from paying Hiller 4.5 mil to paying Miller 6.25 even though Miller hasn't been worth his pay for a few years now AND we give up Bobby with Hiller?

Atleast this makes the Hiller for Kessel crap look better

Personally I doubt we trade Hiller till after the season is over if we do trade him.

Well thats why I said Miller+ for them, you should pay attention.

I thought you were joking, but apparently you're not. Why would we trade a good, cheaper goalie, and one of our best forwards, for an expensive goalie, who will just end up splitting time with Fasth?

Basically, Hiller and Miller are a wash, and then on top of that, we're giving up Ryan. The only reason it made a sliver of sense last year was because there was a point when Hiller looked like he would never return to his former self. It was a bad deal then, and it would be ****ing terrible now.

Exactly lmao! And there's only 30 teams in the league. He's pretty much saying 20 teams have a better goalie than Hiller. These posts get funnier and funnier

I understand, but if Hiller is moved it probably won't be for a while. I think the Ducks plan on riding this tandem till season's end, and evaluating where to go from there.

This is interesting. What's his salary we would be taking on? And his contract status. Just checked he's UFA after this season man.... If you guys sign him in the offseason I would be open to it. He's a center that would be nice to have

He's a free agent this summer. He's also said that he has no intention of waiving his NTC. Tallon has said that the plan is to re-sign him, and won't trade him. Whether they stick to that is another story.

If he signs and Florida wants Hiller would you do it straight up?

As long as the Ducks are making anything resembling a Cup run, Hiller will not be traded during the season. If he is moved it will only be in the off season.

If he signs there then they aren't going to trade him for a while. They have some great center prospects, but it will take time for them to develop. Weiss would buy them that.

Right now? (not talking about career, because its a what have you done for me lately when it comes to trades)

Rinne
Quick
Lundqvist
Price
Anderson
Lehtonen
Rask
Miller
Smith
Ward
Luongo
Schneider
Varlamov
Fasth

Hes an average goalie, there's no arguing that fact. I'm not even sure I would take him over any of these goalies. OK, he's maybe top 20.
