Agreed,Max Noreau would be nice to have on D.

On the Veteran front Alex Giroux,Bud Holloway or Cal O'Reilly would be nice.

Undrafted Free Agents:

I wouldn't be surprised if Zach O'Brien and Zack Mitchell get serious looks. There may be a few more. Hopefully they can find a gem in there somewhere.

Perhaps that IceCaps can arrange with the league to play the remainder of their schedule on the road. Their road record is now 14-13-0-1 while they are only 9-15-1-1 at Mile One.

Braden Walker is a good player to add.

Big win for St Johns yesterday. CT was playing some pretty good hockey lately. IceCaps still tend to be so much more comfortable on the road, pressure at home too much for them?

I've said from day one that no team comes here flat.

They get a flight here which is a treat.
Get to play in a full barn.
Get to play in Canada

So how good is Eric O'Dell? Almost a PPG rate and a decent frame has to count for something. Is he a serious contender for a roster spot next season or after (realizing he still needs to be qualified after this season)?

I am inclined to think he gets a look.

He is still relatively young, he has scored at every level and overcome a lot (heart surgery), so you know the work ethic is there. Perhaps never amounts to much more than a 3rd line role, but every scouting report and fan take seems to suggest he has the smarts to play at the next level.

I hope he can push for a roster spot. The cupboards are still pretty bare. The Jets could use a surprise player.

agreed, i was really hoping that would be Klingberg after his hot start last season, but he's been a pretty massive disappointment ever since.

Telegin was the next one and he's been a let down too. Why don't any of these guys live up to my unrealistic expectations?

Hopefully Odell can do it.

I still think Telegin has the tools, if he can figure out the other parts of the game.

God I feel terrible for you guys. I was an Oilers fan so I know what it feels like.

The big difference for you guys is you have competent management with a plan for the future. Would be great if you had Scheifele and Trouba there next year. Trouba will probably either stay in college or jump up to the Jets, but it would be nice for you guys.

Horrible season.Only shining lights are O'Dell and Jaffray.

I'm sure I'll be flamed but I blame Zinger and co for this.Someone has to be blamed for this.

First to worst. What a difference a year makes.

I am not going to try and convince you otherwise and feel better. Just try and keep in mind the depth this organization inherited. There have been some unforseen disappointments this year and some promotions.

You will be better, I hope you guys are patient. It will be worth it!!

I do but it offers little consolation.

I'll be here but many fans are " what have you done for me lately" fans.

Yeah, I totally get that. When you love your team, it rips your heart out to watch them lose, especially when you don't feel they CAN win.

Despite what some around here say, I truly believe that the Ice Caps being a winner is very important to this organization. I think once the depth is built up they will add veterans to make sure this happens.

I want to win.I get the devloping prospects mantra( we have had the AHL for years)and delt with a weak system in Toronto. However,I fail to see how developing prospects in a losing envionment is good. This team loses they lose BAD 7-3,6-1,5-1 etc.Guys like Gagnon,Maxwell,Machacek need to have a long look in the mirror.

The Calder cup is handed out to the best team. Not the team that developes the most prospects or has the sexiest names. This team in the span of 3 months( past summer) has fallen off a cliff. It's clear to me that they don't play like a team. This is the worst St.John's team I have ever seen and that's saying something. When I see comments by some( not you) on here it makes us seem like we don't matter.I'll be at the games cause I'm a fan but I'm very disappointed with this season and I hope TNSE are too considering their background in the AHL.

EDIT : We lost 5-4.Can't do down 5-1 and expect to win.

Hey, I'm absolutely 100% on your side. I think winning is EXTREMELY important at the AHL level to your organizations overall health and the winning attitude of the parent club. I think TNSE believes that too.

Yes but as I've noted many times there isn't one TNSE draft pick on the IceCaps.
It will take time unfortunately due to depleted cupboards.
I'd say 2-3 years and your team will finally have proper makeup... unfortunately.

Tough loss to a very good Marlies team by the Caps. I was really hoping they would be able to put a bit of a winning streak together.
