That would be insinuating that they play defense in the East at all.

Say what you will about the quality of some teams and defensive play in the East, but it is soooo much more entertaining than watching the western snooze fest. LAK, PHX, STL, DAL, etc make hockey boring.

Good God I wish the Oilers could have Ruff. I like Krueger but... yeah.

Calgary's going to come back to win this. They've had embarrassing losses this year but they're also making a habit of charging back in games.

I was just thinking the same thing. He's a developmental coach who could do a lot for these kids. I wonder if he would take an associate coach position

I really think you're overestimating Calgary, dude. They're just not very good.

I thought that Kiprusoff was supposed to be back by now. Millions was talking about him coming off the injured reserve a week after his injury... I guess it's more serious than they thought.

Although I enjoy seeing the Flames lose I'm getting bloody sick and tired of clubs (especially clubs like LA and San Jose) coming into this province and completing the sweep of Alberta. It's really pissing me off.

EDIT: Hah, I just noticed that Colorado/St. Louis was another 3 point affair with Colorado winning 1-0 in OT. Fun stuff.

EDIT deux: Dustin Penner and Trevor Lewis cracking wise on Twitter about getting 6 points (opposed to 4) in Alberta cuz of the exchange rate. Wut? Exchange rate jokes are so bloody 90's. The dollar is on par. I can excuse Lewis for his ignorance because he's American but Penner should know better.

Both teams suck, what more can be said. At least our back to back with Anaheim is still a ways away.

Well, we should be demanding better. Teams have been completing this sweep over and over and over again for years now.

If we got to OT or a shootout I think we would have won it last night.

But it's amazing how lifeless Calgary has looked in back to back losses.

Did anyone see the hit on Tarasenko? My god, look at his face after.

And for those who want a closer look at the point of impact, in the discussion of the legality of the hit.

I wonder if Avs fans are calling for a suspension on their own player. That one was worse than the Landeskog hit.

...as for Ruff. Yes. Bring him in. Let Krueger go if you have to. It would be a tough move to make since he's such a good guy but you don't pass up on Ruff.

I'm curious, but why do people see him being such a good fit? (honest question)

Ruff can't even get a team with Ryan Miller and Thomas Vanek to the playoffs... They've missed 3 of the last 5 years and have yet to get past the first round since 2007.

Yeah I am not sure why we want to instantly hire Ruff for this team.

And oddly enough that's what we should expect with this team.

Hit itself looks like he hits his body first.

I think he was coming in to hit the body but it didn't help that Taresenko turned toward him and I think it just became reactionary. Pretty hard to avoid that hit to the head when the game is played at the speed it is.

LOL, Brownlee I think was asking if anyone was saying this.

Mark Masters ‏@markhmasters
Thomas Vanek on Ruff: 'Obviously he got fired because of us. It's no secret.'

#NHLJets Zach Redmond down on ice after practice. Apparently skate cut the back of his leg. Ambulance has been called #bn

Ed Tait ‏@WFPEdTait
A number of #NHLJets players on ice huddled around Redmond. Visibly concerned. Claude Noel came back in ice. Asst coaches were still out #bn

Players like Antti Miettinen and Anthony Peluso who were on scene are coming off ice with lots of blood on their socks and jerseys #bn
Ughhh. **** like this is so scary.

What has Kruger done exactly? Not a hell of a lot. Been part of last place teams that's all.

If you can't see why a jack Adams winner is a better option I don't know....

Yes it is. Kevlar socks should be mandatory, imo.
