Zucker did look good in the AHL. Should be an interesting game. Konopka might be in for Granlund and Larssen might be in instead of Bouchard, which most of us wouldn't mind.

We need a win in a bad way. GO OIL!!
Man you should have kept it that way, brilliant. Awesome GDT though, great job.

0-5 in must wins + game vs the Wild = Automatic loss.

what a sick GDT.

Killed it man!

If All the oilers do exactly what you showed, we score at least 10. Good times!

haha in reality, I don't know what to expect. Eberle has been non-existent for long shifts. I'm not saying he's not talented, I'm saying that he stops skating and does not do the things he did last year to be successful. RNH seems hurt, and Hall - although a beast - can't quite finish all his shots and gives the puck up too much.

Gagner is small, Yakupov tries to pass too much, Hemsky does not back-check enough and gets off his game when hit hard.

I could go on, obviously. I initially only ripped into Eberle, but then I kept going. By the time I got to the second line I realized there is a lot to both laud and criticism about our lineup. It's no doubt why we only win every second game. We won't be last this year, I would be very surprised if that happens, but we are far from being a contender. It's sad because we were so bad for so long.

I'm not sure about you fine folk, but I expected a leap this year into playoff contention. I still think we can do it if everyone is at 100%, but that is never the case. The weird thing is that we are offensively challenged, which makes no sense with this line up on paper no?

K my rant is over. it's been a long night!

Figures that the "must win" is against an "automatic loss" opponent...

Will check out the OP on the laptop tomorrow morning since it crashed my mobile browser.

EPIC GDT!

Seriously? Smid and Fistric for second pairing? DAMN. Nobody is going to get into the zone with them on the ice. Probably isn't anyone dumb enough to enter the zone with them on the ice. Really, what's the point? If you go into the zone, Fistric is going to run you over and even if you manage to get a shot away Smid is probably going to block it.

Hope we keep shooting the puck. If we do, we can't lose. Not against this team.

That is an unbelievable Game Day!

My favourite was Belanger...winning a faceoff. Hahah! Epic touch.

Should be a good game. I am predicting a big win for the Oilers. They don't like the look of that 9 game away trip on the horizon. Big storm brewing.

9 game road trip with 2 back to backs (DAL+STL and DET+NSH). We'll be lucky to come out of that with what, 9 points? If we can win these next 2, take 9 of 18 on the road, we could be in pretty good shape coming back from that - should be right around the cut line with 2/3 of our remaining games at home.

this should actually be a very good game to go to. This is not the Wild of old..... How many times have you seen Zach Parise play live? I'll be there as well, lets hope for an Oiler win!

Sweet GDT. Love It!!!!
I nominate OC84 as the Official GDT starter.

Should be another borefest. 2-1 either way.

I expect 40+ shots from the Oil today and goals for Brodziak and Gilbert.

Other than that I don't know what happens. We really need the win tonight though.

I am not sure what I (we) are going to see tonight... for some reason I have a good feeling about this game - but it is the Wild, so I am not sure why. I want to believe that the Oil can play their game, which hasn't been the case in past seasons against the Wild.

The Oil have to find a way to gain the Wild's zone, and acquire and maintain puck control when they are in the Wild's zone. And shoot. How have the Wild been on face offs this season? (If poor, their face off stats stand a good chance of taking a big leap forward against Gagner and Nugent-Hopkins.) I haven't been following the Wild, has their game changed any from the last few seasons? More offense, or the same old grinding/shutdown sort of game? What of other elements? I could look these things up, but I am lazy.

It will be a meaningful vBet win for me.

Looking at games (and I know past results don't dictate the future), the Oil are 2-4-0 against the Wild in 2012 (33.3 win%). With 2.7 goals for per game, and 2.3 goals against (if I am reading things right... which might not be the case, I am a qualitative researcher not a quantitative - so, there is some irony and problems with my citing stats). 2011 was a horrible year for the Oil against the Wild, going 0-6-0 (a 0.0 win%), with an abysmal 1.5 goals for and 3.8 goals against (but, as I sure someone would and should point out - had I not qualified it here - that was quite a different team... well, aside from Hemsky as a top six winger, Gagner as a center on a forty point pace with a crappy face off win %, Horcoff hurt, Khabby as an option in net, the Oil struggling to find a way to win, etc. - as usual, I am purposefully being a tad facetious). All time, things are only slightly better with a 27-38-4 record against the Wild (a 42 win%), with 2.2 goals for and 2.7 goals against.

Looking at the history (because that is all stats are is a record of how things have been... granted, they can be suggestive of what to expect), I now understand why I have long felt that the Wild know how to play and win against the Oil.

Still I have a good feeling about tonight .

If we win, all will be right on HFoil.

If we lose, I'll probably be forced to leave the board for a few days to let the mass stupidity that happens during a loss die down.
