Mhm. I see that his O-Pee-Chee card for 75-76 lists him as a centre, but he was chosen to the All-Star Team as an RW in 75. Of course, card manufacturers back then were horrendus at getting info correct.

Yzerman is your fifth greatest player of all-time????? ahead of the Rocket? biased much? on your list, every player from 6 thru 15 had a more important and impactful then Yzerman.

He was a very likeable and enduring superstar, but, come on. he is not in the top 20.

Yzerman is the most over-rated player on HF.

QMJHL
Guy Lafleur played center in junior during the 1969-70 season:

but RW, the following season:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1970%E2...1_QMJHL_season

He was the first team AS at center in 1969-70, RW in 1970-71.

Basic reason was that the team was short on centers the first season - 15 year old Andre Savard and 16 year old Jacques Richard were the other two centers.1970 eastern Memorial Cup final against the Junior Canadiens Lafleur was dominated by the quality centers he faced.

Team added centers for the 1970-71 season and Lafleur moved to RW. This allowed him the luxury of playing against weak defensive LWs while being double shifted.

Guy Lafleur lacked certain center attributes - defensive sense and vision, he was at the Pierre Larouche level. Weak on faceoffs.

Pre QMJHL in junior he played a bit of both, more center.

Naw, he isn't.
That's just one person's list and let's just call this list...interesting.
Not based in reality also comes to mind

The vast majority of people have Yzerman and Sakic within a spot or two of each other in the top 30 or so.

I wouldn't say that is true.
