Looks like Redden caught a puck to the face today at practice, got a few stitches but good to go for tommorow.

You can see the way he was hunched over going off the ice. That's the look of a man with a pulled groin, not an ankle sprain. If it was an ankle issue, he wouldn't have been putting weight on one leg.

Not saying he'll be back that quickly, but I don't think there's any deception here.

Canuck fan coming in peace. An word on Halak's return? I have a big trade for him about to go down, but I want to wait until he gets a start in just to make sure his groin is ok. Does he start Monday? Any word about severity, or are they being super tight lipped? Thanks guys.

BTW, you have a REALLY frikkin good team! God us all when Jaskin is ready for your top9.

Our beat writer tweeted the other day that he should be good to return on Monday, no word on whether he will start or not though

He should call it quits. Best of luck to him.

Welcome back Chris Porter?

IMO we just improved but hope the surgery goes well for him.

Panger said on tonight's broadcast that typical recovery time for surgery of Lang's type is about six months.

Also, hopefully Backes is okay. That shot really got to him. You could tell he was in some major pain on the bench during the shoot-out.

As surprised as I was to hear this, it does make sense. I was thinkin watching him skate, that his skating compared to last year looked labored, as if he adopted cam janssens "waddle" slyle of skating for lack of a better term. Hope he fully recovers. Great guy

Some folks have been harsh toward Langenbrunner. And he truly does look significantly slower this season. Well, now we know why. But if his hip was good, I think he would help the team. Will he be able to make a comeback next season? He's getting to the point in his career where that gets increasingly difficult.

If someone had to go down for the year, I guess its good that it was Langenbrunner and not Backes or Pietro. I wish him good luck on his rehab.

I think Porter comes back up. He's a capable 4th liner and a guy that I enjoy watching on the team.

Hopefully Langenbrunner never suits up for us again. He has nothing left.

How the hell would you know? How much has his hip been affecting his play? None of us knows the answer to that.

I think there is just as much reason to suspect he's a productive contributor in the bottom 6 for another couple years. The Blues have enough depth that he (or anyone) will have to earn their ice time even for those roles. But if Langenbrunner rehabs well and wants to come back, if he's good enough to make the team I don't see why the Blues would avoid him.

He's been great for the team, adding stability to the emotional ups and downs. Some of our young 'veterans', guys like Backes, they learn from Langs. Maybe his career is done, but I don't get the hostility and the unsupported assumptions in your post. The fact is, no one knows what he has left until he tries to come back from the surgery.

Yet, amazingly, on a bad hip, in a 5-1 blowout against the Predators, he was the ONLY Blue who wasn't a negative in the +/-.

His ability to play the proper angles, make the correct reads, and be a vocal leader on the ice makes him valuable.

Now, one could certainly make an argument that what Langenbrunner brings to the Blues is redundant. But to say he has nothing left, and brings nothing to the table is just ignorant.

Could be the end of the line for Lang's, I hope the surgery and rehab goes well. And I hope Porter is recalled, a high energy 4th liner.

Don't want to speculate, but didn't look good for Tarasenko. Was taken to area hospital.

I'm so ****ing pissed right now. Of course he gets drilled in the ****ing head. That's pretty much the Blues luck.

EDIT: Chaser just Tweeted that Tarasenko is on the plane with the team heading home. That sounds like good news.

Anything other than a concussion and I'm a happy camper, he already had one this season.

No, he hasn't. He cleared 2 tests after his head knock with SKA.

Saw him on the ice after the hit on NHL Network this morning... eyes partly rolled back in head is not a good sign. ****ing blows for you guys. Sorry to see it.

Sucks in general to see great players like Tarasenko, Skinner, Booth, Savard and others get these kinds of problems so early in their career. Not sure what the answer is but starting to believe strongly in the idea of outlawing the "plastic armor" shoulder pads. That will force players to slow down / think twice as to whether the hit they're about to dish out might also cause them problems / an injury.

I thought that hit last night was bad / right on the chin area but I doubt it will get reviewed because Tarasenko turned into it. Hope he gets better quick.

I think that pretty much can be interpreted as:

Out with "upper body injury" (concussion), but we'll tell you later.
