That's some good blue paint coverage.

There's 8 players in that photo... why is the Goalie the one guy furthest away from the net?

Using my broad knowledge of "bad Avalanche trades in seasons in which they suck", Sabres should have held out, maybe they could have got Varlamov in exchange for Ruff...

How DARE you sir?! Don't you know that Sherman is the greatest GM in the league and CB Joe and the other guy who created a profile to defend the Avs will be here shortly to defend his honor?!?

Jets defenseman Zach Redmond was cut on the back of his leg this morning in practice.

Hope he's going to be alright.

Brian Burke hired by ANA as part-time pro scout, guess were not getting Perry anymore, we have no washed up American players

I was just perusing the Canucks board and they are legitimately shocked that Hansen got a suspension. I know there are homers everywhere but really? Weren't they crying bloody murder after the Keith-Sedin incident last year?

Maybe now people will let off Karlsson a little for not wearing them.

I thought it was pretty funny after the coach's corner segment that people were spouting off about how he should have tapped up his socks. What's the percentage of NHLers who still do that? 0.8%? Imagine how annoying it would be if you had to take a skate off to sharpen it mid period. I endorse Kevlar socks but Freak accident is freak accident.

Montreal with Gomez = Terrible team. Last in the East.
Montreal without Gomez = Good team.

San Jose without Gomez = Strong playoff contenders.
San Jose with Gomez = Bad team.

Coincidence?

I don't know how people are calling that the best game of the year. I didn't know horrible defense and even worse goaltending added up to game of the year. Doesn't that make every game under the Clouston/Hartsburg/Paddock regimes games of the year?

It more like watching a train wreck than a well played game. It had a really anti climactic ending as well. That Nashville-Detroit game the other night was far more entertaining IMO. Less sloppy, more real skill and goaltending was solid aside from Datsyuk's goal.

The Pittsburgh/Philadelphia game was awesome, definitely high entertainement value. I felt it was not as much as a train wreck as last year's series though: the game felt a bit tighter even if there were mistakes made.

Agreed that the ending was anti-climactic but at least the good guys won!

Does anyone remember the Anderson vs Vokoun poll during the lockout? And all the people saying Vokoun is still the better tender? Not talking about primes? Good times.

The Leafs must get more 5 on 3 goals than any other team in the league.

I'm just wondering about the physics behind getting cut... I mean I understand the fabric won't cut but couldn't it still cause damage to the leg, even a serious cut injury?

IDK maybe they've thought of that but I don't really get the cut resistant fabric thing. I can understand taping your skates (not like Bobby Orr - like Phil Esposito) and preventing what happened to Karlsson because the material on the skate lip is thick enough to absorb and the skate would ride down the leg/skate instead of getting caught between the lip and ankle...

I'm just wondering if this cut resistant fabric is good enough to prevent injuries when there's serious moment to the skate that's doing the cutting...
