I guarantee you that Shero, being a better judge of a player than some of these posters, will at least acknowledge that Seto is not this ******** drooling fool that some of these posters would have you believe. You guys don't want to trade Depsres for him? That's fair. But you DO NOT get to undervalue him the way you have, and seem reasonable or like you know what the hell you're talking about.
Dude, there is no way Shero deals Despres for Setoguchi. No GM in the league would do that.

It is what it is.

Geesus dude, we're talking about completely separate things!!!!!

The OP started something, but the posts have evolved, and the last trade idea I even made was Clutterbuck for Maatta.

Look up a straw man argument then apply it to what I was saying. Again, at this point, you and I are not talking about the same thing at all. You're still on only the original post from the OP.

That's not what I am saying.

I even acknowledged that Despres probably would not get traded because of the way he has been playing for you guys lately.

Are you kidding me here? So this post wasn't about Devin Setoguchi?

You are aware that that's the post I was addressing, right?

Love the little swipe advising me to "look up a straw man argument", though. When all else fails, attempt to insult someone else's intelligence.

You can give Komisarek a try for cheap. 4th rounder sounds fair. He has looked considerably better in the games he did play this season..

It's a bit of a stretch to call Komi a defensive defensemen. More like an oversize pylon.

Larsson at worst will be a solid 3rd line center(he could step in and do that tomorrow). If his scoring comes along, which the Wild seem to think it will he could be a very good 2C. Likely projection is a tweener who can play either.

Coyle will be a top 6 wing, only question is if he will be an avg one or develop into a very good PF type.

Phillips is still very raw, and has taken to the AHL at a slower pace then the rest of the prospects. He also, atleast early was getting the short end of the stick on linemates and assignments with the center depth we have had there. Next year will be a big year for him to determine if he's got a future in the league.
Ahh.. thanks for the information. Much appreciated.

Despite his rawness, Phillips still intrigues me. What do you think would be a reasonable return for him from the Leafs?

Are the Wild not up against the cap already without Komi?

So you quote my post, and in the quoted post, I'm even saying that it's fair that you guys don't see the value in Seto for Despres. I'm just saying that Seto has value and it gets overlooked by SOME posters.

The last trading post I made in this thread was about Clutterbuck for Maatta. Oh no, it's not in the thread title, whatever. The thread has evolved and many Pens fans were against the original one, I was working with it.

Is this clear now? I just want to make sure.

Phillips, while intriguing, would probably have to be combined in a larger trade. By himself I don't think he would bring enough in a trade.

Regher.

Buffalo should be selling assets.

Regher is very familiar with shutting down players in the West (and more specifically the North West).

I don't follow Minny enough to know the specific issues of the team but they're last in GF so it would appear offence opposed to defence is the bigger issue.

I liked Regehr when he was a Flame. Well actually hated him cuz he was excellent at his role. I know Robyn's game doesn't necessarily reflect on the stat sheet, but has he missed a step? I have a bit concern as he has played many games and I know at least in his Calgary days they were the hard match-up minutes he logged. How's he been playing for Buff? What terms would Sabre fans want for RR?

, even just Clowe is probably too much for that abysmal return, but Sharks fans have been offering Murray up for a warm handshake for half a year now.

Eastern Conference fans seem to always have an inflated idea of the value of their players. More so than just any other fans. Weird.

I wonder what it would take for the Wild to get Eric Brewer from Tampa Bay? He seems like a really good fit alongside Gilbert and he brings a veteran, gritty presence.

What about Charlie Coyle + Marco Scandella = Despres?

Coyle gives you a talented young winger and Scandella can play depth minutes to patch up any hole Despres might leave. He also has second pairing potential.
