Michael Kidd-Gilchrest said MJ recently beat him 1 on 1. I think if he REALLY wanted to, he could be a decent bench player playing 10-20 minutes a night. Guy's still in unreal shape. It's MJ though. He'd want to be a starter. Which is insanity.

That said as a huge basketball fan, I pray to Alfie he doesn't attempt a come back.

Pretty sure last weekend's NBA All Star festivities is the most embarrassing sporting event...probably ever.

Honestly, the NBA in general has become pretty embarrassing, IMO.

What a fall. I remember loving watching basketball as a kid in the late 80's/ early 90's. Karl Malone was my all time favorite player, and watching the Jazz back then was just amazing.

These days, I can't imagine a more boring way to spend 3 hours than watching a basketball game. Honestly, it's just as boring as golf is to me. I have no clue what happened to the NBA in the last 10 years, but the product is awful right now. AWFUL.

My sentiments to a tee. MASSIVE hoops fan up until the last couple of years. Since the Bird days.

I've tried. I've tried very hard. But there is very little that is redeeming while watching/following the NBA.

The NBA used to have so many great personalities and legends: Jordan, Bird, Johnson, Malone, Ewing, Clyde Drexler, Charles Barkley, Hakeem "the dream" Olajuwon, Dominique Wilkins, Pippen, Stockton, Miller, Kemp, Gary Payton...

When I try to watch the NBA these days, it's just a random assortment of guys who act like they're bigger than the league but haven't done a damn thing to deserve the reputation they think they're entitled to.

Coaches used to actually coach, but it seems as though the biggest job for a lot of coaches these days is to manage egos. The whole culture of the league is just such a gigantic turn-off for me.

To wit (and I know its only the all star game, but its a perfect microcosm of the league as a whole in 2013):

Quote:
According to Steven A. Smith, Popovich tried to draw up a play for Howard during a timeout on Sunday night. But, when he looked up, Howard wasn't in the Western Conference huddle. Instead, he was sitting on the bench messing around with a couple of celebrities who were sitting nearby. So, Popovich scrapped the play and dropped a couple of F-bombs in Howard's direction.

Brad Fritsch back from his 2 week break. This week it is The Honda Classic, a 1st round 68 put Brad in a tie for 30th, Brad had the early round today and is currently 1 over after 9 holes, and is currently tied for 37th.

Unfortunately a bogey and double bogey on the 16th and 17th holes has dropped Fritsch down to currently 58th, after 2 rounds he is at even par and the cutoff is even par.

Fritsch survived the cut, ended up tied with some guy called Tiger Woods, 9 behind the leader

Not a major league sport in the seanse most people think of it, but if you're a football fan in Ottawa, the Carleton Ravens will be hitting the field next year. The Carleton student paper put together a great "everything you should know" type section out here. Definitely worth a read.

Baltimore Ravens have apparently made Joe Flacco the highest paid player in NFL history.

Is it April 1st? Am I missing something?

It's scary to think how much he could've gotten if he were actually good.

This statement is HILARIOUS.

I mean, not sure what the issue is with Flacco. Overpayment? Maybe.

But he just won you a SB. So, you let him walk? Then what are you going to do? Sign JaMarcus Russell? Trade for Tim Tebow? Draft lol Matt Barkley?

71 starts
2,285 Att, 1,276 comp, 55.9%
14,623 yds, 6.4 YPA
98 TDs, 4.3%
74 INTs, 3.2%
QB rating 76.1
42 wins, 29 losses

80 starts
2489 att, 1507 comp, 60.5%
17,633 yds. 7.1 YPA
102 TDs, 4.1%
56 INTs, 2.2%
QB Rating 86.3
54 wins, 26 losses

Take a look at those stats. QB stats of guys signing big contracts. Without knowing the players, do you want either to lead your team for the next 6 years?

Or are people still getting held up by the $120 million figure? This is the NFL. $120 million means nothing without guarantees.

Fritsch had another bad day today another another 7 over 77 has left him tied for last place but because he made the cut will still earn about $11500

Fritsch will move on to the next tournament in Puerto Rico.

Fritsch having a interesting 2nd round, he bogied 3 of the first 4 holes, but he birdied 3 of the next 5 holes so after 6 holes he is even par, but he has dropped down to 28th. the cut off is -3, brad is currently at -5.
