presumably leadership to the Ads, plus maybe a net decrease in our total number of contracts since it was a 3-for-1

Playoff time is beginning to shape up in the CHL.
Portland (Leipsic, CHL leader in PTS)

Oshawa (Karlsson)
Halifax (Andrews)
All locks to get into their respective League playoffs.
Kingston (Vainonen)is 8th in the eastern conference with 12 games left, 4 pts ahead of Peterborough. with 2 games with the Petes.

At the NHL level it was only 1 for 1. Ford and Lajunen were the only players involved with NHL contracts. The rest were on AHL only deals.

Leipsic is starting to pull away in the CHL scoring. His strongest competition is his teammate Petan.
Currently:
58 games, 42G, 63A, 105pts 1.81 pts per game clip.

Correct. He came to prospect camp and signed an ECHL/AHL deal, and has platooned in Cincinatti for most of the year.
Lajunen for Ford is strictly an AHL deal in terms of impact. Both were constant scratches leading up to the deal, and neither is likely to ever play an NHL game. Ford is a career AHLer, Lajunen is a marginal player that's likely going back to Europe at the end if the year anyway.

The Ads' game was on fox sports ohio tonight and I caught the 3rd period in a 7-1 thrashing at the hands of the lake erie monsters. I didn't notice much except that Valentine is terrible and the Latta likes to fight. Smith didn't look too good in net either. Kinda disappointing seeing part of my first ever Milwaukee game and it be that bad.

Smith has been horrible lately and you can start to question whether he is going to be a capable backup to Rinne.
Last 4 games he's played he's given up 24 goals and has an 81% save percentage.

sounds like he will probably earn himself another chance at the AHL level next season...
will be interesting to see if we bail on Smith.. if so expect Hellburg and Pickard in Milwaukee next year..

I was hinting at trading Smith and bring in Pickard to compete with Hellburg for the Milwaukee starting point.

Chet's brother was the goalie for Lake Erie. He seems to be a good goalie. I never want Chet back in Milwaukee. He went an entire calendar year without winning a game!

Getting my first (live) look at the Ads for some afternoon hockey. Heading downtown to watch them take on the Marlies.

The Ads game was shown on ESPN America today so I got a chance to watch it. Magnus Hellberg won the game for Milwaukee, he looks a really nice prospect. Taylor Beck also impressed me with his offensive play.

Sad that people in foreign countries get more Admirals games live on TV than people in the market.

We really need to trade for a top offensive prospect or take a reach on one in this draft. A pure offensive player.

Not gonna happen... We don't trade for or draft for purely offensive players unfortunately
