How so ?

I'm glad philly didn't play like that against us. We would have been murdered. Especially with Budaj in nets.

Because he's a 4th liner and is thus not worth a 5-year contract, and the Habs can't sign every useful player in a 650-player league.

Not sure why you're blaming Vokoun when he's playing behind a pylon defense of swimmers.

Bob Hartley was the best candidate they said... Montreal were stupid to let him walk... He won the Quebec-Montreal series as an head coach, winning was in his blood... Why... Why... Why...

His last season in PIT, he had slowed down significantly as well.

Prust is better than Talbot, and has more potential. I think I would prefer Talbot to our current Moen, but it's close. Moen was amazing for the Ducks, people forget that.

This, don't see the big deal with not signing Talbot.

Feel the same way about Philly. And I've been watching them since the 70s, through the Bobby Clarke era. They've had some players I've absolutely hated, but in general they've remained more consistent than practically any other team in terms of character, competitiveness and entertainment. Even their uniforms have remained true to the original.

I'd still rank Mtl/Bost as a better rivalry, but not by much.

I honnestly think it all comes down to $$$$ and had no other teams offered him a deal, he would have had no problem signing with the habs. Montreal is not the first choice for a lot of French-Canadians, but if one gets an NHL offer to play in montreal, they won't turn it down.

You mean a 5 year contract for a 3rd 4th liner not really the cash. 5 years is a hell of a contract for a bottom 6 player and if the Flyers didn't offer that deal I'm pretty sure he would have stayed in Pittsburgh

Pekka Rinne, and he's the only reason they have wins as well

Agree. Grew up watching them too. My first NHL game was an exhibition game between the Flyers and Habs at the Old Forum.

I miss the days of Gene Hart.

Philly lead 5-3, and then gave like two 5 vs 3 PPs to Pittsburgh with like 5-6min left in the game. It's like they wanted Pittsburgh to come back.
Both teams took their timeouts due to unstructured poor play of their teams within 13min of the first period.

Both teams played like crap. You don't win 6-5 with 1 minute left in the game and play well. It was all over the ice hockey. Sure makes for a somewhat entertaining game (I prefer the close 3-2 games), but that's not really good hockey.

We would have destroyed Philly if they played like that versus us.

One smurf too many.

This year, the "good" Cammalleri has only shown up against the crappy Stars. Plus, he will always miss a good 20 games and hover right around 20 goals.

Meanwhile, Bourque has been beasting at all ends of the ice.

Hartley has no chance with this team. Nor would anyone. Tanguay is their best center and he's a winger. Then it's Matt freaking Stajan who is their #2 C. Their defence is incredibly soft. Kipper is injured and was playing like crap anyway. They have AHL caliber backups. Iginla looks like he's 50 years old. It's a total mess.

The Flames remind me of the Habs, just a year behind. Always hanging around the 8th seed but never committing to a full rebuild until the year they're pretty much forced to. Last year was the first time we had a real fire sale with the Cammalleri, Gill & Kostitsyn trades, this year should probably be the same for the Flames. Then they can score a star player with a high pick and should be able to get some quality picks/prospects for Bouwmeester and Tanguay, even if they don't trade Iginla.

They are more like the Habs of the late 90's/2000-2001 than last year's. There's no Price-Subban-Pacioretty in place there even if they get their Galchenyuk this summer.

Different coach, different system, different team.

But I said current roster, meaning keeping Bourque here. Just swapping their 2nd back to them for Cammy, which is what I thought you were saying.
