I haven't been watching the Avs/Blues game, but I thought it was funny that the announcers said something like "We hope we can match the goal scoring that just happened in the Pens/Flyers game" and the game is 0-0 about to be heading into OT hah

Zach Redmond. RT @ice_chip Ambulance apparently being called. Scary moment for Jets. Claude Noel out on ice with Redmond.

The numbers certainly suggest that. Still, many believe he does better when he can thrive in relative anonymity. He's solid, though.

Jets defenceman Zach Redmond underwent surgery for three hours today to repair a laceration to his femoral artery and vein. Horrific injury.

Yeesh, that Redmond injury was definitely scary if he lacerated his femoral artery .. lucky guy.

Columbus scores in the waning moments, leads Detroit 3-2 with under 30 seconds left. They're creeping up on us!

Edit: CBJ wins. Now one point behind us. With one game in hand.

Ya gotta feel bad for Ottawa. Their best 3 players are all out injured.

Still better than us though

Taylor Hall just took out Clutterbuck's knee.

Yes, you read that right...would have expected the opposite but Hall clipped him, knee-on-knee...Clutterbuck went down writhing in pain. Expect Hall to get a call from Shanahan.

NHL.com has "Cull Me Maybe" as a headline.
Don't know if that's the best choice..

According to Friedman, Karlsson is implying Cooke knew what he was doing and that it wasn't an accident. I'm right there with him.

That's not really what he said

Especially for Islers fans. But yea, in all seriousness it's a real shame for DiPietro himself. He had a bright career ahead of him. I thought the guy was a bit of a tool if I remember correctly (hell, he's been out of sight out of mind for so long now), but that doesn't make it any less a shame. There was a time when he was the apparent future of Team USA goaltending, seems like decades ago.

Those were the days. It was Miller vs Dipietro. I remember 'HSBC' chanting USA. Seems so long ago now.

My god, I love hockey but the "systems" and "coaching" in the NHL are hell bent on killing the game. Everybody who paid to watch this Canucks/Preds game should get their money back.

I wish the CHL video packagers weren't horrendously overcosted or else I'd me some OHL/WHL/QMJHL action. I can only take this whole "sit back in the neutral zone and hope you score a fluke goal and win in the shoot-out" strategy is just killing this awesome game.

Mmmyeah.

Last year's playoffs was a pain to watch, most boring playoff hockey ever...

Not really sure how it's gonna change except if a team goes Harlem Globretrotters like 08-10 Caps (who then lost one playoff series to a hot goalie and their FO and coaching staff decided to go the "safe" route).
"Safe" route is the easier route to go... I just don't see many teams going overly aggressive anymore, not after last year's playoffs.
