Once again the Lightning have a player under the weather and Guy Boucher will not be able to reveal his line up until tonight. Keith Aulie’s equipment was not hanging in his stall this morning so people were speculating that it was him. It does appear though that Adam Hall will get back in the line-up after being a surprise late scratch on Tuesday.
In other news, Boucher said that he no longer calls forward Nate Thompson “Text Book” in reference to his style of play being exactly what the coach is looking for. Boucher said this morning that it wasn’t because his game has fallen off, but because of the ribbing he took from other players and staff. It became evident when equipment managers changed the name above Thompson’s stall to read “Nate Boucher”. Regardless, Boucher (the real one) said he loves Thompson’s versatility. He can play a tight-checking, defensive role on the third or fourth line, or jump up to the top six and push the pace with his speed.
Tomorrow the Lightning will practice in Brandon and head to the airport to head to Carolina for back-to-back games against the Hurricanes on Saturday and the Pittsburgh Penguins on Sunday.
The lineup will be a game-time decision, Boucher said, with one unnamed player who is sick. D Keith Aulie was not on the ice for the morning skate and his gear was not in his locker.
Former Lightning D Jassen Cullimore, a member of the 2004 Stanley Cup championship team, will serve as the color analyst for tonight's radio broadcast, filling in for Phil Esposito alongside Dave Mishkin. ... Cullimore recently helped out on the Lightning's weekly radio show and is exploring doing more media work.
