That's it? That's all EG could get for Chuck? Seriously?

Come on, there's gotta be a conditional pick in there or something. Otherwise, how the hell does it benefit the Wizards? Is Ted trying to take over the Sao Paulo TV market?

I didn't even know this, but apparently Barbosa is out for the year with a knee injury.

So there's not even a temporary contributor coming back.

Congratulations Ernie, you traded the team's third leading scorer (and a sold bench player, at worst) for absolutely nothing.

Got to be trying to make cap space to make a major move this offseason. Right?

Right?!

Crawford makes $2M, aka 1/6 of what Okafor does.

Continuing the theme of trading away anyone who can help for the higher draft pick. I think the Wiz go through 2 more seasons of this junk.

Right now they're just praying for that Superstar/Ovechkin draft pick to fall in their laps.

Example one trillion of how clueless Ted is about sports.

Before the season:

Leonsis: Wall, Crawford and Beal, that’s a pretty good three-guard rotation. We want to bring in a seasoned backup point guard. … And so what our belief is, we’re hoping John Wall and Beal become real stars that we keep and kind of build around them. Can Wall and Beal and Crawford one day be Isiah, Dumars and the Microwave? Right, I mean, that would be a pretty good backcourt.

http://kevinjbroom.wordpress.com/201...s-in-response/

Halfway through the season:

The Washington Wizards traded guard Jordan Crawford to the Boston Celtics for the expiring contract of Leandro Barbosa, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

http://sports.yahoo.com/news/nba--wi...190805570.html

So in summation, before the season Leonsis thought we had an asset with 6th man of the year type of ability, by mid season we valued that asset so little we traded him for Allegra. Pretty nice grasp on reality Mr. Leonsis, and this is no way makes you look like a complete and delusional dolt as an owner.

More fun quotes via The Bog:

Read these quotes. See the players' confidence building. See players developing right before your eyes. That is what a rebuild is all about. A new big three has announced its arrival - Wall, Crawford and Blatche. Big minutes - big productivity - big results. And wins, too. We are short-handed and so players are getting bigger minutes to show the world what they can do. We have two first round draft picks next off season. We have cap space. We are young. We have upside. We are becoming an exciting team to watch. The sun is shining out today. Admit it. It feels good to be Wizards fans watching the rebuild unfold, yes? I am so grateful to you all and I appreciate all of your positive emails. Thank you.

If they really wanted to trade away anyone who can help for the higher draft pick, Okafor and Nene would be the first to go - experienced, expensive, and return decent value.

This is about Ted not paying the luxury tax next season.

And he will sell it as the wizards have cap space next year to get big ticket player and wizards are a contender next year and rebuild is going great.

They don't have cap space next year.

http://hoopshype.com/salaries/washington.htm

Salary Cap has been at $58M for three seasons.

Okariza eating up $22M+ in cap space looks fantastic now, doesn't it?

Goodbye Steezus.... won't miss those contested hero ball shots.

Looking towards the NBA lottery prefer someone that has some scoring ability. Muhammad and Bennett seem to be decent options.

I was just reading a glowing preview that was fumbling for warts or deficiencies. The only meek quibble was that there was no #6 starter now, in the event of injuries. Well, Young becomes Lannan's replacement as first callup. Heck of a roster.

Was hoping for Vasquez (still am, I suppose, since he's not supposed to make a decision until next month IINM) but yeah, if he sticks on a minor league deal Young is nice depth to have.
