Hope Red is okay!

So much for the little bit of depth we had on D when Bogo came back into the lineup

Wow.. this GDT is amazing!
Really sucks for redman, hope it doesnt keep him out of the lineup for too long. I'm predicting a jets win tonight, another low scoring game, ill say 3-1

I am just really hoping we come out and stick to the basics, forecheck hard, move our feet, finish our checks, etc. When we do that we're at our best. Nothing fancy, just a good hardworking game. If we do that, I think we can take advantage of a pretty brutal looking (they've been hit with some injuries) defensive core.

I have a feeling we see a good Jets team tonight. Ladd, Little, Wheeler, etc.. the core guys, really seemed to say all the right things a couple days ago heading into Buffalo. Enough is enough, it's time to get **** done. They seem focused, have the desire, attitude and anger to turn this thing around. Let's see if they follow through. Big test.

Zachy Goj with a goal tonight? I think so.

Never been more confident.

7-2 Jets

- Wheels 3 goals
- Hainsey 6 points
- Kane 2 goals, 2 assists and 2 fights (double Gordie Howe hattrick)
- Sadly no smoking hot girl behind Kirk Muller/Canes bench

Ok I'll bite. Whats the deal with Zachy "Goj"? Google is telling me that Goj is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Wielowieś, within Gliwice County, Silesian Voivodeship, in southern Poland.

I guess that makes sense.

I think it comes from the soft j ('zh') that people usually pronounce Bogosian's name with.

Just rolls off the tongue. Zachy Goj.

He's Armenian. Fantastic people with a sad history; just like most cultures in eastern Europe, the Balkans and the Caucuses.

Ahhh! I was reading it as zachy Godge. When really, the linguistic phoneme is closer to Zachy Goeje. Carry on.

Excellent GDT! Is that a retro Winnipeg photo on the machine?

4 Lozenges on a 3-1 Win, and I'll take a side bet of one lozenge that we don't miss the empty net this time!

I will play the Debbie Downer role and say the Jets get shutout. 0-3 Canes.

It was created by our very own Lynk. And he describes it here (below), and as he has said, it really just roles off the tongue. I also recall Lynk saying something to the effect of shouting the following, which then ends up as Zachy Goj.

"Go Zach!" ---> "Go Zachy!" ---> "Go Zachy Go!" ---> "Go Zachy Goj!" ...... Zachy Goj.

Honestly, it just fits. It almost doesn't need explained it fits so well.

I suppose it was a matter of time until "Zachy" came on. And "Goj" just has a good sound to it.

Once I was able to post the enunciation I was going for.

Who knows, we're still at the part of this thread where everyone puts down their stupid predictions that no one else cares about.

Prediction:

Caines 269/10(48.5) | Jets 270/2(47.4)
Jets win by 8 wickets

We may need to be more specific as to which team Hainsey's rear end gets the points for.

Jets have looked good last 3 games, if they continue that level of play we can beat the 'Canes. If Jets are going to be a top-half bubble team that sneaks in the playoffs we're gonna have to to beat the 'Canes. Guys who started slow are each stepping up last few games, notably and noticeably Wheeler, Burmi, Little, Clitsome and Pavs. If they start clicking at the same time Jets can go above .500 on this road trip and actually make some lost ground back up. Lots will depend on Pavs tonight.

Speedy recovery to Redmond, hopefully no more injuries to our blue line.

Canes are missing Skinner so the Eric Staal line with Semin will be the one to shut down. Defense is injured as well, heard Ryan Murphy is playing his first NHL game tonight. Hopefully our veteran guys can show him the ropes...

Ward has a GAA above 3 but S% above .900. Sounds like he's perfectly capable of shutting down a low scoring offence like ours. We're going to need to show up. Power play that's you...

I expect a tough game and I'm sure goaltending will be the key. If Ward plays rock solid we lose by one goal. If not, it depends on Pavs daily output.

Best wishes to Redmond I hope it won't hold him back for a longer time.

To be honest I thought the Jets have looked good since the mess in Tampa.
  • They beat Florida.
  • They dominated Toronto in a losing effort. Reimer stole it.
  • They beat Ottawa.
  • They had a bit of a blip vs the Flyers, but even that game was winable and many suggest Bryz stole it.
  • They were right in the mix vs Pit (a very good team) MAF was a beast.
  • They were right in the mix vs Boston (a very good team)
  • They beat Buffalo.
I have seen 7 mostly good games in a row.
