Well it's easy to say in hindsight, but I believe the 'Shea Weber sweepstakes' took place after Jagr was already signed (right?) so it kinda makes sense that they had to pass up on him. I don't think it was a mistake necessarily, it just sucks for them that their gamble didn't pay off.

They still had the room to give him another 1 year deal for this season (Pronger still isnt on LTIR), which I would've liked them to do. But Jagr wasn't willing to wait to see how the Parise/Suter gamble went, and Weber after that so he signed in Dallas before the Flyers could resign him. I understand why they didn't, just sucks they missed on their deals and lost Jagr too.
