Yeah and yet many times I came to this forum and witnessed tons of praise of Sean Avery

Brooks is a journalist in an AFAIK quite sensationalist newspaper. Bad news are good news. He's doing his job, and quite successfully so, as it seems.

Is last year a great example to prove your point?

The following is Lucics reply to this matter.http://www.csnne.com/hockey-boston-b...07&feedID=3352

I also would like to commend most of the people who realize it was not intentional or a dirty hit.

It wasnt.

Im willing to bet 99% of Ranger fans would love to have Lucic anyway.

“I watched it again, and I didn’t jump and my elbows were down. He’s taller than me, right?” said Lucic. “I think he’s like 6-foot-4 and it was one of those things where I hit him and his head hit the glass [afterward]. It’s unfortunate for them and it’s unfortunate for Rick that he might be out because of that hit. But I have to play a certain [physical] style and Cam [Neely], Peter [Chiarelli] and Claude [Julien] all expect me to play that way.

“I’m just trying to fore-check and do my job. I’m just trying to do what I get paid to do. I don’t hit dirty. I’ve had one [supplemental discipline] call about a hit in my six years so far. So you can criticize me if you want, but whatever. I’ve had dings where little guys have hit me too, but I was fortunate that I didn’t have to miss any time. If I targeted the head then the league would have been looking at it very closely. We’ve got our own team here and our own things to worry about.”
Cant say I disagree here fellas.

Sean Avery was a pest, not a goon and certainly not a DIRTY PLAYER.

People never understand this fact.

Sean Avery was not dirty. I always found that notion ridiculous.

Avery is not even comparable to Marchand. Certainly not as bad as broons fans defending Marchand's antics, ie lowbridge, dives, etc.

And you're here because....

A player can be dirty and good at scoring. You know that, right?

Clap all you want with the emoticon, but it's true. Marchand is very skilled, and dirty too.

I will never deny Marchand is an edgy lil ****, dirty is a label he can also tagged with. But he is one seriously beautiful lilttle ball of Hate that like Lucic many teams would love to have. He began as a 4th liner and forced the Bruins into giving him more ice time by busting his ass and being effective. Sound like something Ranger fans would want?

Actually, what I find most detestable about Marchand, were those pictures of him with his shirt off celebrating in a Halifax bar.

I wish I could forget that I saw them...

@***************: **UPDATED NHL NEWS**Source: Rick Nash does indeed have a concussion and is having severe headaches past 72hours (Light is effecting him)

Don't know if it was posted and I don't know how legit the claim is but I figured I would throw it into discussions.

Marchand is dirty.

I would take 6 Marchand type players for the 2nd and 3rd lines.

You can describe him as dirty....or you can also describe him as a very good and underrated player.

Love the way he plays the game.

Would cut off my arm and hand it to Sather if he could get Lucic and Marchand on the Rangers. At least those guys have a pulse.

Torts wouldn't know what to do with them.

They play a style that Torts dispises.

They would not last long here as long as Torts remains coach.
