Hmmm, I just realized Damien Brunner is an UFA at season's end. I wouldn't go full Leino on him but I'd certainly offer up a decent contract. Maybe 2 years, 7M.

I doubt Detroit lets him walk. Just thinking out loud.

Regardless of his salary, Jaybo could be a great pickup depending on Feasters price.

Methot-Karlsson
Cowen-Bouwmeester
Phillips-Gryba/Weircioch
Benoit

.....is arguably a top 5 blue line in this league.

I'd still prefer to sign Streit this summer though

i just heard on the MSG broadcast that Murray stated that he would not trade any of his young players, regardless of how many injuries the team has.

Hopefully he means he won't trade young players for older players and rentals, cause we should be deep in the O'Reilly hunt, especially considering this team is still holding onto a playoff spot.

I had no idea of my dads letter to the Denver post. It's tough situation I apologize to anyone bothered by this. Hopefully its over soon.
I really wonder what is going on behind the scenes. I wonder if it's going to keep dragging out.

Hasn't really done anything at the NHL level, not sure if he played top 6 minutes thought. Might be a top six only kind of guy.

I think its risk free. Why not take a flyer and see what he can do. His contract expires at the end of the year anyways.

Claiming Mursak would be a good depth move if he'd be willing to come play in the AHL.

I agree that it's frustrating to see a good scoring chance end up rimming around the glass, but they're usually an inch or 2 away from going bar-down. I can live with Spezza doing it. Fisher was kind of hard to take with it, though.

We'd have to play him in the NHL if we claimed him. The Wings were pretty high on him, but I guess the emergence of Tatar and Nyquist have put the squeeze on him.

He's never given real chance and when he could have been given, he's picked up some freak injury. Has been on 4th line, sometimes on 3rd.

I hope he gets claimed, kid deserves he's shot.

Hope we do it but doubt it.

Mursak's got some Darren Helm speed in him but health has been an issue. High effort player, nice hands. Not very physical but not strictly top 6 IMO.

The whole purpose of claiming a guy on waivers is if you are going to keep him at the NHL level. I'm not 100% sure, but if we claimed him, and then sent him to the AHL, he would have to clear waivers again - just like what is happening to Detroit. Or something like that.

Yep, this exactly. I don't think I'd want to take him, is there anything to suggest he's a better player than Daugavins?

Why would the Sens claim a player that has 46 games in the NHL, has scored 2 goals and 4 points and been passed on the depth chart by AHLers.

http://www.mlive.com/redwings/index....would_hav.html

Also don't think the Sens really need a third or fourth line right winger.

Agree with this. I'd love to get O'Reilly. He'd fit in perfectly with this team. Trading prospects for stop gaps, however, would be the worst thing we could do.

I believe he's a LW. There's certainly some upside to be a similar player to Erik Condra. He's hardly being passed by AHLers. Nyquist, Brunner and Tatar were high end prospects and are performing pretty well.

So the consensus on any ROR deal seems to be that either Zibby or Wiercioch would be the players going the other way. Plus a prospect (Noesen? Da Costa? Stone? Puempel? Ceci?) plus a non-first round pick (3rd is the highest we have left for 2013).

Earlier in the month I'd proposed Wiercioch + JOB + 3rd rd pick in 2013.

I would imagine with the recent hype the market has gone up even more for ROR so my previous proposal doesn't get it done.

So how about Wiercioch + Noeson + Da Costa + 3rd rd pick in 2013 for ROR + Shane O'Brien?

This smacks of a volume-for-value type trade, I realize. And even with that I'm not sure ROR is worth it anyway. And I'm not sure Colorado would view Da Costa as highly rated prospect. And I'm guessing they'd want a 2013 1st round pick which I wouldn't do.

But Cowen is back next year to occupy that 2nd pairing LD position. Gryba, Boro, and Benoit are capable. Phillips is a fixture on the 3rd pairing. So Wiercioch is not that great a loss for us. Da Costa is upgraded considerably with ROR. Losing Noesen hurts.

Michalek - Spezza - Silfverberg
Greening - ROR - Alfie
Lats - Turris - Neil
Zibby - Smith - Condra
(Daug, Regin)

Methot - Gryba
SOB - Gonchar
Phillips - Benoit
(Lundin)

Andy/Bishop
