Nash shouldn't. Neither should a few other players. Also...Nash doesn't most of the time - he carries to puck in almost every time he has it. Of course, Torts always benches him for doing it...oh wait... that never happens.
Fancy is not creative. Fancy is fancy. creative is skate puck in, pass, pass, shoot. What we do is dump and chase, not recover puck, repeat. If you watched tonights game there were plenty of times Richards went to get the dump in against the boards, and i think he never recovered one, he lost everyone.

Wasted performance by Lundqvist. We got a point out of it, but that was one of his better games this season. When he plays like that, you want the two points.

Our shootout looked terrible. Gaborik doesn't have the swagger he had in the shootout from last season. He exuded confidence then.

Richards and Gaborik looked great in OT. Richards was much better this game. He is just snake bitten. I'm sure plenty of fans will get on top of him, but I thought this was a much stronger performance by him.

Overall, I'm just disappointed we lost that second point in a skills competition. Give the Sens credit. They deserved the win. Honestly, I thought they had a higher battle level then us. They had an edge this game. And they did it without Spezza, Karlsson, Michalek, Latendresse, Regin, Cowen and even Anderson for half the game. The better team won tonight.

Get Larry Brooks on the case.

Two? It's five! With Andersson, that's six!

People still think this team has heart? LOL!

No, no. Ottawa showed you all what real heart is.

Sure, but I bet you dollars to donuts that it is because they believe that the Rangers 'ran' their goalie.

If Sens fans cannot clear their biased vision, and see what happened, that is their fault.

The IQ level on this GDT is pretty good. The Pollyannas believe that everybody should think that all is hunky-dory in Rangerland, and that they will 'bounce back' 'next game'.

Guess what? Next game was tonight, and no way they should have effed this one up the way they did. Get happy with 1 point if that turns you on.

And that higher battle level was proven on the tying goal..shoot, rebound, shoot, rebound, shoot and score.

Del Zotto has a groin concussion and a lobotomy.

You heard it here first.

And the Senators remind me a lot of our team last year. Tight defense in front of the net. Collapsing. Blocking shots. All heart. Great goaltending. Etc. They're my 2nd favorite team in the league, have been for years, and I really admired the way they played.

That's how WE played LAST SEASON! Seriously, I really thought there were shades of the 11-12 NYR in them.

Team's still in lockout mode. Only a few players look like they know the NHL is back in full swing.

Richards continues to prove me wrong and Del Zotto has no place on the PP.

Gaborik looked better tonight, but guess what? Missed 2 opportunities to win us a game. Considering he gets paid to score goals (and that's seemingly all he can do), he gets a failing grade from me too. And why was he put out on there on the shootout? Oh, so he can skate in with speed, shoot five-hole, and miss again? Easily the worst pure goal-scorer in the NHL at shootout attempts.

Players were challenged to step up; Callahan did, most did not.

Funny thing is - the dump and chase was effective tonight in parts of 1st and 3rd periods, the Rangers were forechecking well and getting to loose pucks deep in Ottawa's zone. That was hardly the issue. What was more concerning was that Richards was turning the puck over with alarming frequency almost every time he crossed the blueline for the second straight game.

And I thought Staal and McDonagh did a real good job of carrying the puck through the neutral zone - I thought Torts discouraged that sort of behavior?

Okay, still, I see people try to skate the puck in and fail. I see people try to pass around the offensive zone and fail. I see it a lot from everyone but 3 or 4 players.

Richards isn't doing anything right - he's not dumping and chasing well, he's not skating the puck in well, he's not passing or shooting well. He's got his own mental issues right now, he's not a victim of the strategy.

Also, the players who are capable of skating the puck in and passing nicely do it often and Torts doesn't reprimand them - they get A TON of ice time. Stepan can do it alright, Nash does it very well, Hagelin does it very well and McD does it very well. Those guys skate in and pass around a lot and I don't see them in hot water with the coach because of it.

Im going to apply the Nash logic to Gaborik tonight.

Well, Gaborik missed two chances and a shootout attempt, but he was all over the ice tonight creating chances and even started the Callahan goal he didnt get an assist on.

See how that works?

He will regress to the mean eventually and start potting goals.

Exactly. Some players, Richards for example, aren't playing well period. They're not being hamstrung by the team strategy, they're just struggling.

And yeah, Staal and McD were great at entering the zone tonight. McD is every night, so are Nash and Hagelin and they carry the puck in all the time and are rewarded with a ton of ice time. They never, ever get reprimanded for skating the puck in. They're go to players.

What's Torts' phone number and address?

This calls for a tireless campaign of car keying, dead animal in mail box inserting, late night calls with heavy breathing for his wife or significant other..

Okay, maybe that's out of line. But at least shave his head with a butter knife.

And do we go with Biron next game? We all know how Lundqvist... the whole team rather, struggles at the Bell Centre.

Honestly, I think Biron would give us a better chance to win there. At least, I don't think he has a mental block there. Lundqvist/Rangers always get crushed there, and we really need the 2 points.

They need to get the monkey off the back here in Montreal. No avoiding ****. No Biron talk.

Lundqvist needs to play. That might be a bigger catalyst for his team if they win than we know. If we lose, we lose. Same ol ****, right?

Really? You think he played as well tonight as Nash does usually/has done this season so far?

Also a lot of the chances Nash has missed have been created solely by himself. Not chances put on a silver plate to him. In overtime.

If the Rangers want to change their fortunes in Montreal, honestly, when that ref drops the puck, just drop the gloves. All of them. Just pound the **** out of the Oompa-Loompas.

This team is a flat our embarassment. If you cant beat down the senators with all their injuries........and now without their #1 goalie........you dont deserve to be anywhere near the playoffs.
