Aebischer to Florida (Rumors)
Its not Eklund.....The code (who i think is more reliable) is talking about Florida making a push for Abby..
"Florida is now talking to the Habs about Abby and to the Sabres about Biron. If all doesn't work, they will turn to Legace.
Red Wings and Leafs holding court for Carter. Canucks still not out of the picture.
More details in the Insider on ******************"
What can the Habs fetch or take for Abby? a D-men?
Mike Van Ryn? maybe...or some prospect?

Guys you won't get for Aebischer (even if you add to it, these are guys they won't trade to address their goaltending imo):
Horton, Olesz, Jokinen, Buowmeester, Van Ryn, Stewart, Weiss, Allen, Bertuzzi.
There's probably more, but I have serious doubts any of these guys would get moved in a trade involving Aebischer, so I would try to focus on others.

wont trade? how did you reach this conclusion?
Anyway...Aebischer+a good prospect for Buowmeester. If indeed we have to trade Souray.

That's exactly what he said in the insider. Not details on who is involved.

If we trade Aeby, it'll be for a 2nd rounder
Otherwise, start the season with both Huet and Aeby
There's no pressure to trade Aebischer...

Well, don't we need some cap room to insure the signing of Ryder + some space for emergencies?

Why don't they just sign Legace ? He won't ask much and it won't cost them any player.

I agree......no rush to trade him........We actually might really need him......Huet has only played for 1 year.
They should be competing for#1

No we will come in around 42.5 million after Ryder and Perez are signed and we decide which rookie makes the team and who goes to the minors.
We have our emergency room already.

we've got enough cap room to be safe at the start of the season and space for emergencies happens by trading stuff if needed.

Well CODE was right about the 2 years offer to Samsonov the habs had made, he called it the day it happened and I remember reading that the habs only joined the Samsonov bidding that day,as they had not showed interest earlier.

Yeah that was my thought earlier. But since the Souray asking to be traded rumour has resurfaced I think we have to adapt and take the best risk for the team. If he's really gone we need a top 4 D.

Samsonove said the Habs showed interest from day 1 and it had alot to do with his decision.

I read this on another board, not a rumour, just a proposal
Would St. Louis take Souray and Aeby for Brewer.

I think we're sitting at around 39M right now
Ryder will get about $2M-2.5M
Perez will get max $1M (maybe the same as Higgins? 675,000...)
We'll be fine, we may even keep both Aeby and Huet through the playoffs just like Buffalo did with Biron and Miller.
We'd lose Aeby for nothing but if Huet is sucking ballz, then it's worth going into the playoffs with Aeby.

How many years left?

I wouldn't trade Souray straight up for Brewer why?
Because of all the Intangibles Souray brings...
My #1 Reason is
Whenever someone f's with a habs player and Souray is on the ice, he will not let it slide, Komisared picked up on that, and so did Rivet...with souray gone... who's gonna lead in that department? cuz buddy is it ever important...

If Aebisher is traded, I hope it will be for a young Dman... however, I trully believe Carbonneau when he says he wants to keep him: Huet add success in is last two seasons were he played only around 40 games in each... Gerber was also in the same situation, and we saw what happened in the playoffs when he was asked to play 60 games in one season.
