No way that trade happens anymore since its in the media. Pierre Lacroix has been known to kill deals if they leak. Hence why you never see any of their deals coming.
MDZ is a great pick up though, I read somewhere he went off in the 2nd tonight and didnt finish the game, is that true?
MDZ got banged up. That would be a fair trade straight up, but would just leave the NYR with another hole to fill. The NYR need 6-9 forwrd help. Losing Prust really hurt the character of the NYR. They are pansies right now. If the NYR could get capable #6-#9 forward help that has some "jam" they may recover. Dubinsky is missed as well.

Now stop right there young man. I can tell you with certainty that more "jam" is not going to help them. Dubinsky is not missed.
What is missing is effort, heart, and basic hockey motor skills. I propose:
MDZ, Brian Boyle (Just because.)
To whoever can get someone to come teach this beer league team how to make passes and transition properly from the neutral zone over the opposing blue line. That should in turn also help fix the power play.

I wouldn't trade him for ROR. It leaves a hole at #4D. Only thing we trade him for is an upgrade. It'd need to be a gifted puck mover too, guys like Justin Schultz.
DZ+Skjei/Hrvik for Mike Green? Staal-Green would be an amazing 2nd/1B pairing.
ROR has to commit to sign in the 3M-3.5M range per year for two or three years first.
Cap hits work.
ROR can battle for top 6 center with old man drop passes Richards and Stepan.
O'Byrne can play 3rd pair minutes
Rangers end up with more overall cap space this summer since O'Byrne is in last year of his contract so they have more space to sign McD, Hagelin, Stepan and flesh out the rest of the team.
If ROR and Stepan work out, it makes it easier to use an amnesty buyout on Richards after next season.

Wouldn't touch Green with a ten foot pole. He makes Gaborik look like Doug Jarvis.

The same Mike Green whose older, more expensive and hasn't played anywheres near a full season in 4 years? Nooooo thank you.

No, it leaves a hole at #6D.

This is very intriguing, but would hold onto the 3rd rounder.
I dont get why people are talking about only 4 defenseman for Rangers - MDZ, McDonagh, Girardi and Staal.
Have you seen a Rangers game this year? Stralman is right there with them.
And right now Gilroy is not playing bad. Yeah upgrade would help, but not at much cost...

Agreed 100%!! We have a very good D-core and Stralman has been IMO up there with Staal and McD. Something happened when he came to NYR and he has been really solid! Gilroy too. He came back this year and almost everyone thought he was just going to be sitting all season. That has turned around playing very good, getting into plays physically, and taking opportunities where it needs be. Those two were good signings, Stralman especially!!

I am happy if the Rangers hold onto the 3rd but if that is what it takes, maybe make it a conditional, GMs like to gamble.
Rangers get a real center to solidify their forwards and a big right handed D who is no stranger to the penalty kill.
Not sure if that comes close to filling Colorado's needs. MDZ would probably play well there. Help out on the power play and still play top 4 even strength minutes.(He always reminded me a little of Liles but a little tougher, not sure if that is a good or bad thing from Colorado's perspective)
Boyle behind Duchene and Stastny should be fine. He would add some size to their forwards and he can penalty kill for them.
