They didn't pick up Thomas to reach the floor, they were already at it. They picked him up to artificially lower the cap floor in case they wanted to move Streit/Vis. A compliance buyout pays 100% of the players salary with $0 against their cap; That just doesn't seem very Wang-like. Acquiring a player that counts against their cap but that they don't have to pay any money, does seem Wang-like.

I suppose if they did it, it would be a very big gesture towards their fans that they are willing to start spending money...

I do NOT believe he is going to be bought out.. I could be wrong and please god let me be wrong but from everything we've heard surrounding the team Wang is not going to cut a check to DP on a buy out.

This is just waivers and there's no chance anyone claims him, they're recalling Poulin from Bridgeport and DP will probably become the regular starter down there with Nilsson still injured.

Of course Wang won't buy him out. He's trying to sell the team and get the next sucker to do it.

Whoever buys the team should realize this though.

The day the Isles traded away Luongo and Jokinen in return for Kvasha and some other guy (cant even recall who) still haunts this team.

They need to purge all traces of anything from that era.

I love that DiPietro bleeds NYI colors, but he brings nothing to the team at this point.
