His life is like the opposite of the movie Unbreakable. I wouldn't be surprised if the bus to Hartford crashes and everyone is fine but DiPietro.

Rangers take him on after a complete buyout. place him in hartford and let him play every game and get his act together. Beniot ALIRARE SP? works with him daily and when Birons contract is up his bacomes the back up at the garden to hank and maybe just maybe if healthy he is a nhl player again. if not welcome to the orlando solar bears

Weird, Nonis feels differently. Not that they should claim DiPietro by any stretch...

He's not going to retire.. Would you walk away from $4.5 mil for the next 9 years?????

This whole Charles Wang selling thing is being blown way out of proportion it was reported by a random post writer, not Larry Brooks, and every one else around the team has refuted it or said if anything he's looking for a minority partner.

I wish I was wrong cause it would be great for laughs, but even the Leafs arent dumb enough to claim him.....

They are sending him the the AHL because the coach has come out and said he has no faith in DiPietro to play as a back-up to Nabokov. With Back-ups being more important this compressed season they needed to have someone they can have faith in playing the position.

I expect that we will see a rotation of Nilsson and Poulin as the back-up. One being rotated up and down to ensure they get the playing time they need to continue their development.

2- He will not be Bought out

3- the Isles will see if Poulin is ready to be an NHl starting goaie...

I love Poulin watching and learning from Nabby

Dp will either be the highest paid player in the AHL or will play so much that his body will break down and he is forced to retire.....Genius

Best wishes Rick
Injuries aside he would never have been a top ten goalie. His propensity to overplay the puck and turn it over would have always prevented it. At his best he was able to overcome deficiencies in his fundamentals with good reflexes but that is not a recipe for long term success as keeper in the NHL.

Good riddance

Milbury's greatest mistake, which is really saying something.

This guy set the franchise back nearly ten years.

The $1.5m buyout, is more embarrassing then anything else imo.

Isles fans will have 15/16 yrs of reading comments, about the isles still paying DiPietro.

retire?

would you walk away from 9 years of 4.5 million? Thats over 40 million bucks. No one walks away from that. He will ride the bus in the AHL and laugh all the way to the bank.

Yes, if I was physically unable to play and I could sit at home and have the insurance pay me my contract...

Isles fans feel free to correct me. But, isn't Wang the one repsonsible for the contract? Pushed Mad Mike to do it.
