Rangers take him on after a complete buyout. place him in hartford and let him play every game and get his act together. Beniot ALIRARE SP? works with him daily and when Birons contract is up his bacomes the back up at the garden to hank and maybe just maybe if healthy he is a nhl player again. if not welcome to the orlando solar bears
He's not going to retire.. Would you walk away from $4.5 mil for the next 9 years?????
This whole Charles Wang selling thing is being blown way out of proportion it was reported by a random post writer, not Larry Brooks, and every one else around the team has refuted it or said if anything he's looking for a minority partner.
The day the Isles traded away Luongo and Jokinen in return for Kvasha and some other guy (cant even recall who) still haunts this team.
They need to purge all traces of anything from that era.

They are sending him the the AHL because the coach has come out and said he has no faith in DiPietro to play as a back-up to Nabokov. With Back-ups being more important this compressed season they needed to have someone they can have faith in playing the position.
I expect that we will see a rotation of Nilsson and Poulin as the back-up. One being rotated up and down to ensure they get the playing time they need to continue their development.
To be fair, it's not like RickyD was some bust 1st overall pick that was just an awful player.
If he could've avoided injuries, he could've been a top 10 goalie in this league during his prime.
Best wishes Rick
Injuries aside he would never have been a top ten goalie. His propensity to overplay the puck and turn it over would have always prevented it. At his best he was able to overcome deficiencies in his fundamentals with good reflexes but that is not a recipe for long term success as keeper in the NHL.
