Though he's not worth what we pay him, it's not worth it to buy him out and fine a replacment and he has close to no value so I think we ahve him for this next season. To be honest I really don't mind, I think he was very underrated in the defencive role he played, like I said not worth what we paid him but solid and who knows maybe he will produce more next year when 100% if not we still got a big center for the shut down role.

I say.. try Bonk centering Samso and Kovalev. I mean, he's big, he have good shot and he's so good in his own zone. I think it could work really
we will see the return of Ovechbonk.

I'm glad someone started this thread, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Bonk can do this year, as someone said he has nowhere to go but up, and i think he'll perform well this year. I like the idea of trying him on the second line.

Same here, I think this will be the year that defines Bonk's future as a hockey player. I think a healthy Bonk will really show what he's made of. I say wait until we see what he does in pre-season before saying he can't do it.

I'm sure Bonk could be a better center than Ribeiro for Kovalev and Samsonov. Yeah, Bonk is slow, but Ribs too!! Bonk is the kind of guy that don't fear to be in front of the net, he's tall and big! Maybe it's something they should try! I like the idea.

Remember when Bonk started to play good because Begin was feeding him the puck? Gainey got overboard and made him play on the first two line...and he bombed spectacularly. Because he could not follow the other two guys!

There's just so much hate going on Ribeiro on this boards. I think some people would need to «reset» their opinions on Mikey and actually watch him play.

Bonk faster than Ribs?
Not that Ribs is a speed demon but he's certainly more agile on his skate and a more mobile hockey player than Bonk.

Bonk better than Ribs?
Better shot maybe.. More like more powerfull shot than better one. Anyway, he has like zero creativity. Not that you necessarly need to create play with Kovalev and Samsonov but you do certainly need some to get out of the way properly. (Not that he would actually be involved in the play)

Bonk getting rebounds in front of the net?
When did he actually tried the front of the net?

I don't want Bonk near that line. EVER. 4th line seems right for him. He can be an elite 4th line player.

We waited for Bonk to develop for years in Ottawa.

I wouldn't be too optimistic, but my anti-Bonk stance is fairly well-known around here.

I'd take Ribeiro over Bonk if I was looking to create some offense.

Bonk is generally considered good defensively because he's always the last guy into the offensive zone and thus rarely gets caught up ice. It doesn't help things on the offensive side of things though.

Bonk should stay as Bégin center , they worked pretty well together. Put another guy that can hit on the RW like Murray or Ferland and you got a solid grind line. Bonked!!
