I've heard the CHED guys use the term "must-win 4 or 5 times already this season, and If I recall correctly, the only one of those games we won was the CBJ game which we didn't deserve. Rob Brown called tomorrow's game a must-win, I'm not sure it really matters at this point.
First game I'm going to this year. It sucks that Hall is likely not going to play. I hope for a 6-5 barn burner, but expect a 2-1 loss. I'm really not excited to be going to this one at all with the way this team is playing.
Pretty much a guaranteed loss. Phoenix is another team that we never win against.
Only way we get back in the playoff picture is if we win minimum 7/9 on the upcoming roadtrip... So yeah, go ahead and start the Death for Seth, Aimin' for Nathan, God knows what for god knows whom threads, and look forward to the playoffs in 2017.
No improvement in this team whatsoever. In fact we seem to be going backwards.
Anyone with time should listen the the first portion of of Marek vs. Wyshynski, they spend a good 15-20 minutes talking about the Oilers, nothing new being said, but a little different perspective. The best point they made was that the Oilers only know how to play one way irregardless of who's on the roster, and it's been that way for years.
I'm thinking 54 points is the cut-off, and to get there, we could go 18-10-4. 4 of 14 losses being brought to OT is pretty much what we have now; close to 30%.
Of course this means getting points at .625 here on in as opposed to the .469 we've been getting, which is getting achieved thus far only by: MTL, NJ, BOS, PIT, CHI, ANA, VCR, SJ. We'd have to be as good for the rest of the season as the top 8 have been to now, so not a lost cause yet but it sure is a hill to climb.
Oilers had to go 4-1 on this home stand at minimum to have a shot at the playoffs with a gruesome 9 game in 16 day road trip. They have already screwed the season. We will be realistically out of it after this road trip, yeah half way though the season.
You know that beat stick will not make a trade before the deadline.
