Washington as sellers?

George McPhee met one on one with several players today before the Caps practice. It's been speculated that he was telling the key players that the Caps will use the rest of the season to evaluate the younger players in the organization and therefore, that they will be sellers at the deadline.

Which players could be dealt? Probably Hamrlik, Poti, maybe Ribeiro. Who else?

What draft picks or young players could the Caps get for that?

Man if Ribeiro is available... I hope the Hawks take a SERIOUS look! I'd offer quite a bit for him

I'd be interested in Ribeiro for the Sens at the right price. He's a stupendous, dazzling player.

It would infuriate me to see Ribeiro go. He's been the best player on the Caps this season and solves a lot of issues with our "secondary" scoring. If he goes a lot of PP/ES offense goes with him. Personally, I'd like to see him reupped for 3-4 years.

Washington need to change there core player that it ... They will never win a cup with ovi as a captain !! That I promise

Ovi is good and fantastic player but he's not a good leader ! It sad to say cause I loved ovi and I still du but he's not in Crosby league no more sadly !!

Kovy and Ribiero on the same line makes my mouth water.

I doubt NJ gives up premium assets this deadline, though.

What would Washington (within reason, or realistically) want for Mike Green?

They're already out of the playoffs, so they might as well bottom out and see what their kids can do.

I would consider Kessel for Backstrom... but honestly Kessel is playing great and Backstrom doesn't seem like that 100 point guy anymore.

Could Brouwer be available? If so, what would it cost the Oilers to get him?

Seriously doubt it. He's one of the few guys exceeding expectations this season, and has a contract where the price and term are right.

I'm aware but at this point in time Kessel > Backstrom. I wouldn't do it from a Washington perspective Backstrom (when on his game) is a top 10 centre in the NHL. Problem is he's just not producing like he was a couple of seasons ago.

If I'm Washington, he's the last guy I trade. It's just so tough to find #1 centres.

Yes, Washington should act as sellers and sell off some vets. Yes, for picks and prospects.

if washington wants to in they need to change the culture a bit

the best way to do that with the least negative effect while getting the most return is Mike Green

Actually, no NHL GM should call him so it improves the chances of firing McCockroach! Please, no deals with the Caps.

If Ribiero gets traded, does that open the door for a possible move for O'Reilly? I know it was discussed amongst both sides before in a trade proposal, but he would be good fit behind Backstrom.
